He actually took a dig at the Catholic Church right at the beginning ofvthe quoted comments. He said "strangely" it was the Catholic church that took the message to preach seriously.

He took one more dig at them and Martin Luther I believe. He said somethink like Martin Luther was almost a Catholic. Oh Gawed! The horror! Ha! They still cannot help themselves from insulting the Catholics. Some habits die hard.

Dubs are clinging to this idea still! My family makes comments like "don't you see it?" You're always watching news how can you not see or get the sense that governments are going to turn on religion?"

A few days ago a pioneer dub I talked to at the door made a similar comment. I told her just as I told my sister I just don't see it. How is it possible Government is going to ban religion? It's a nice thought as religion is a problem but it is not the only problem in this world.

Ha Ha! "return to me or I'll kill you" That's funny. I hear this family all the time. "Jehovah is so loving he doesn't want anyone to be destroyed. He is giving everyone a chance to come to him" Well then why the hell is he letting so many good people suffer for so long? Why didn't he just fix the problem in the beginning when Adam and Eve sinned? Why didn't he just wipe out Satan back then? Why did he create us with free will in the first place? Why didn't he just create us all so that we'd be perfect and happy people and incapable of sin?

Perhaps because Jehovah (God) is just not there.

Reports of lower memorial attendance

i have heard a lot of reports from kingdom halls in the area that there was less than last year, for both time slots.. we had the first time slot and we were down 50+/- compared to last year.

last year we had the lobby full of people standing and this year we had empty seats and no one standing.

we ran out of parking last year and this year we made it.. like i said i am hearing quite a few reports of this from halls in our area.however, somehow the number seem to inch up every year.

They are always in my neighborhood but never got an invite. I went for family reasons. Went to a local congregation's meeting. Actually it was two congregations that met in a hotel conference room. There were about two empty rows that could have for about 20 people. There were a few empty scattered seats that I could see around me. But I have no idea how large the congregations are.

I didn't get any love bombing. I was in pants and never saw these dubs before. Talk was cold and dubs were cold. One lady did welcome me on my way in.

individuals are flawed..... looking at this article it really makes it look like an organization is hiding the situation.

OTWO: you are so right about the dubs putting down the Catholic church for the very same sins. What a crying shame they cannot see it in their own group. My mother always points out the Catholic church and how awful and hypocritical they are whenever defending the dubs about this issue. Sadly, my mom doesn't really know the doctrines she is told to believe in. I think is the case with much of my dub family. They just blindly follow and live in fear of the Big A.

Worst Memorial Talk Ever!

i honestly have never heard such claptrap being delivered in a memorial talk.. the speaker repeatedly put down the way other religions administered the bread & wine, and claimed that witnesses do it exactly as the bible describes.

oh yeah????.

he forgot to mention - when reading aloud 1 corinthians 11:25 - that after passing the bread, a full meal was to be shared, before the wine was passed around!

The speaker I heard talked about the 144,000 and used Revelation 14 I think. He talked about great crowd but not sure he used rev ch 10.

Of course they had the contribution box out next to the table filled w literature . For the Worldwide Work AKA Child abuse lawsuits

The talk I heard was all about paradise. In the beginning we were reminded that Christ made paradise possible but the rest of the time was all about paradise. Who will be in paradise and who will be in heaven.

Used sandy Hook incident to remind ppl how scary the world is.so scary just sending your little ones to school. Also used German airplane crash as a scare tactic.

the man who said the prayer before the bread showed more appreciation on his prayer than the speaker did in 45 mins.

the man who prayed before the wine said a long ass prayer. It seemed so rehearsed. He seemed to be reading his prayer. Lol
