  'Give me one reason I shouldn't be a JW.'

  what would you say if a close friend was to come to you and say: "i've secretly been studying with jehovah's witnesses and i plan to join their organization.

  i know how you feel about the witnesses, but i truly feel that they are god's chosen organization.

  i don't really want to hear anything negative about the society, but out of respect for our friendship, i'll let you briefly mention one reason why i shouldn't.

  the jws claim to have some 8,730 "anointed" footstep followers of jesus christ among themselves.

  all supposedly "led by the spirit" as spiritual "sons" of god.

  (romans 8:14).

  You're probably not expecting this, and neither are the skeptics, but nonetheless I am encouraged to reply...

  What you have suggested is correct.
  Direction is given, but the choice is yours.
  If you choose to ignore the Holy Spirit's lead you will know about it!
  If you follow the lead, you will similarly know about it.

  I have discussed my exit from the JW's with a number of "anointed", and none have condemned me for it.
  The truth is, I've had more liberty "in the Spirit" since I've left.
  I don't doubt that it was the right move, and I have assurance of that.

  Truth is, I rarely drink any of them, these days.

  Any ExJW kids out there?

  i am 7 years old and would like to make some friends with any ex jw kids out there.. i like music, dancing, movies (just saw clockstoppers, it was awesome), books.

  we are about to move and i made a house out of the boxes!

  my mom says i should be an engineer when i grow up because i can make lots of neat things with the boxes!.

  He's naughty, but he always makes me laugh.

  I think the dragon, in Shrek, was cute. She had a bit of a temper, but had lovely eyes.

  Brief overview of bible, without all the killing, rape and pillage...

  Creator makes world and man
  Man does bad
  Creator punishes man
  Creator promises better times through Ambassador
  Lots of people believe Creator and wait for Ambassador
  Ambassador comes and promises better times when he comes back
  Ambassador pays price for all the bad done by his friends
  Friends of Ambassador tell world about him, offering friendship
  Everyone waits for Ambassador to come again with better times
  Ambassador comes back and gives better times to his friends
  Everybody who isn't a friend of the Ambassador goes down the plughole

  Ok, so it's a bit over-simplified, and has none of the bits that most consider fun (killing, rape and pillage), but that's the general gist.
