BBQ Update

well, i finally got home, after a round trip of about 1600 miles, visiting 28 ex-jw's and their families, from around britain.

the highlight of the trip was definitely englishman's bbq .

the spider-filled digeridoo, was a real bonus, as was the sing-alonga-eman (shame that not everyone knew "wild rover" .

I'll let you know if I succeed in getting her to come, so you can be prepared. Manchester will hopefully be a much easier trip - I'm still knackered (but smiling ) !!!

i just got back and i wanted to say thanks to eman and her ladyship for a really great bbq.

it was fun meeting lots of lovely people too.

now i've got a lot of catching up to do...ps> if anyone's got any pictures of me they can put them up i don't mind.

So true, even when Celtic was swearing like a trooper - LOL - I was waiting to see a reaction from anyone, and none came. It was great!!!
Non-judgmental, is the key, since I believe we've all had a bellyfull.

Smile-break? What's that? I don't believe in them, to some folks infuriation!!!
I was raised on sayings such as "Smiling takes less muscles than frowning", and "Smile and the whole world smiles with you".
I've been visually impaired all my life, but this year I got that fixed, so my comment stands

The Young Anointed Speak

i have a friend that is of the anointed and dear to my heart.

"i do feel it is time to reveal my heavenly hope.

i am a young anointed jehovah's witness and i have long observed what is going on in the organization.

I think that in the context of the JW's, "young" anointed has to mean post 1935.

I left, and many others have, too. As for starting a new club - what? and start all that all over again?

Reformation doesn't usually happen from within an organization or church, it leads to a split (e.g. Protestant reformers left Roman Catholicism).

It's a topic that will likely keep arising as long as the borg exists, or at least until it drops the whole 1914 / 1935/ 144,000 dogma.

I'm scunnered that I wasn't able to get in contact before the event. I could have nipped over and given you a lift. A few more miles wouldn't have made much difference to me. Look forward to seeing at the Manchester bash!

have you ever had to deal with the thought that you really weren't that good of an example?

perhaps, the congregation was encouraged to pioneer or reach out for bethel service or go to seldom worked territory, etc.

and when you applied, you were told that you didn't qualify.
