  God is Jesus

  i am looking for more scriptures that can prove to a jehovah witness that god is jesus, and jesus is god.i found only one verse so far in 1jo:5:20: and we know that the son of god is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son jesus christ.

  this is the true god, and eternal life.. if you know more scriptures that say directly that god is jesus please tell me the verses the jhw will see plainly that jesus is no way an angel, and he is jehovah god almighty.. my friend said if i can prove by the bible only that jesus is god he will leave the jhw society, and he will know that they are teaching lies and they would be to him a dogma religious sect.

  my friend gave me a booklet called should you believe in the trinity?, and is jesus christ the almighty god.

  Hi Alan,

  Enjoyed your posts, as usual.

  As for me oversimplifying the Trinity doctrine, that was my intention.
  I wasn't providing supporting evidence for or against the concept, just trying to distill it down into it's most easily digested form.

  You raise so many issues in your posts.
  Any chance you can condense it down to the main questions or points that you contest?
  (That isn't a grievance, incidentally - I really do enjoy your posts and research)

  As for the "category" God, I believe the conccept still holds.
  There is a category "God" (just the one), therefore any other attempt at being categorised as "a god" renders the occupant of that category a "false god".

  Question for the musically inclined 'annointed'

  what can i say...i love music.. revelations 14:3 talks about the 144,000 and how they sing a song that no one else can learn but them.. 3 and they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders.

  no one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

  my question is....do the members of the 'annointed' class already know that song.

  This subject is so old!

  By now, surely you know that the Trinity doctrine is about substance, not personage.

  I'm human, consisting of flesh and bone, as are many on this board (I hope).
  The Father and Son are God, consisting of spirit.
  In some way they are distinct from the angels, who are created beings, just as we are distinct from the rest of the animal kingdom.

  From what I hear the Catholics also have "charismata" in certain quarters.
  Speaking in tongues is not unknown among some of their priests and nuns.

  AM:
  A little bit like when you get liberty to speak in your common tongue, in public prayer, then.
  A difficulty to know when to shut up and sit down.

  Internet warnings in the UK?

  i was recently visited by a jw ( he is a really nice old chap who has his own doubts) and he said 'internet' more times than you would think possible in a fairly short conversation.

  either he has been told something, or there have been extra warnings against the internet at circuit assembly, co talks etc.

  does anyone know if there have been extra warnings just lately?

  Yes, there have, and especially at the last District Convention.
  It would now appear that anyone who uses to Internet is a closet pornographer!

  Hats off to the poor C.O.'s who had to deliver a talk that used the word "pornography" more times per sentence than comma's.

  so what do you drink, where and how?.

  of course in britian we drink our pints down the pub.. i have to laught when i'm in europe as they only drink tiny glasses of beer , when you ask for their equivalent of a pint they look at you as if you are some nut case.. anyway i usually get through a couple of bottles of wine and several pints of larger a week.i drink most nights but not too much.. is it true that the legal age for alcohol is 21 in the states?.

  i remember celabrating my baptism at 17 with a few pints in the pub.

  In England the spirits measure is usually 1/6th gill.
  In Scotland we have the slightly more generous portion of 1/5th gill.

  Personally I prefer a good pint of Guinness.
  A good single malt whisky (like Glenmorangie) is also hard to beat.
