i have been studying with the jw's for several years.
they have been pressuring me to become one of them, but something seems to be holding me back, instinct maybe?
i agree a lot of their teaching are good, and i'm sure are the truth but here are a few of the things that bother me: jw's use the scripture hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the gathering of yourselves together...... to justify their meetings.
You dont need the witnesses to show you what the bible means.

sometime in june i will be put in a situation where i will be one on one with a witness.
(you could say i will be cornered) but i am actually looking forward to this.
this witness thought i was a great person even before i studied, but then after i found out about the truth she believes that i'm being misled by satan so now she is going to talk to me.

"What you need to know about Jehovah's Witnesses"
This book has a lot of good scriptural references in it.
I suggest that you leave the JW history out of your conversation.
Any good JW will tell you that because of "New Light" the doctrine can and will change.
If you really want to help this person get out of the bOrg, you need to do it lovingly.
Approach this person in a kind manner and simply ASK questions...when a question is answered with scripture and you dont agree with the interpretation...simply read the scriptures before and after the reference in question (to establish context).
Point out to the JW that you believe that their scripture is taken out of context...but dont argue...just agree to disagree.
What you really want is to get them thinking about their beliefs and why they think that way.

have you folks or your agents read and carefully digested the posts in the very recent thread entitled "how many got the real truth from the internet"?.
and it spells trouble for you.. you would be doing the world a favor if you just admitted your faults and disbanded the entire organization.
and given the destruction you've wrought in people's lives over the last hundred years and more, that's exactly what you should do.. but, since there's so much money involved you won't do that until you're forced.

while relaxing with my morning java at the local coffee joint i suddenly noticed window-washing equipment moving across the glassed surfaces of the restaurant.
yes, there was one of the local j-dubs hard at it.

reading the lb thread "home but hiding" struck a chord with me.. i remember when i was inactive for the period of about a year the elders made a few "sheperding calls".. did anyone else out there find these very rude and condescending?.
first of all, in my case at least they always showed up unannounced.
how much do you think those "hell-ders" would like it if someone randomly dropped by their house unexpected?
No one ever gave me a sheparding call...sniff...sniff.

i`m sitting here in front of the computer with a nice cold bottle of molson canadian beer.i don`t drink canned beer unless i`m camping deep in the forest.its easyer to pack,and cans dont explode(bottles will)if your going up a rough mountain road.i prefer my beer stored in a bottle,i think the taste is a lot crisper.so how do you prefer your favorite beer?bottles,cans or on tap served in a frosty mug..

sometime, i'd just like to say goodbye cruel world but, it would be too easy to do this.
when i was in the borg, they were telling me that when someone go out of the org, he have a lot of problems and that's exactly what happen to me.
