Where do the JW's pull their statistics from?
by stillstuckcruz ini noticed how, of course, the public talk outlines contain the same information for all the brothers to use.
but their statistics on matter aren't very up-to-date i imagine.. example: i remember the talk about parents or young people or something.
many of you may remember the statistic it provides.

Need awesome suggestions!
by the_raisin infor the last four days, every morning i take donut out for her walk, i always find jw's preaching door to door across the street.
i always cross to them, and wait with dread at what i think is inevitable: they will try to preach to me.. but it never happens.
four days, seen three diifferent groups, nothing.

Once they are on the clock they aren't going to waste their time, if you caught them before they started the shift they might try to hand you something, you say you're not interested, and they are on the clock, since they aren't on piece work, or get a bonus for talking to people why bother, they are going to paradise anyway with or without you at least in their mind. Plus a house holder is less likely to lash out since they are at home. I guess they are sort of working for a company that does not pay it's employees and they are only at work cause the wife or husband will be made if they sat on the couch all day. what a screwed up way to live, i'm so glad we are not part of that pile-o-crap.

How HIGH did you climb the ranks as a JW? Did you like the STATUS?
by unshackled inso what were your biggest jw accomplishments as a rank & file?
curious as to what level you climbed the r&f ladder while in the org, or if you still are in.. did you regular pioneer, or auxiliary pioneer?
bethel?

I auxilary pioneered twice, screwed it up completely the second time, as in not getting half the hours. I probably would have taken the hook like a bull dog and went all the way if it wasn't all so boring. I was pretty much useless as a JW, I remeber being asked to lead a service meeting since I was the only man there, man that must sting, total tool pretty well unqualified for anything and leads the meeting cause of the extra bit. I was not to impressed with the jobs anyway, mics? what kind of a freaking position is that? really reaching out.

I haven't been since 1994, and it seems to be exactly the same(from what i'm reading here), with half the format dedicated to telling the masses not to participate in the wine and bread. I've seen them screw up funerals in the same fashion, filling what could be a decent moment with a bunch of rules and crap that they have made up. If I had good reason to go, I'd go, but it is so boring and silly I would not go for any sort of spiritual reason, they would have to be giving out $1000 bills or hold it at a resort in Grand Cayman-at their expense of course...
happy easter

The strangest looking (and acting) nut jobs you have ever seen at the KH!
by new boy inthere are so many after after 52 years in the "borg".. my top two would have to be at my last hall tigard oregon.. one lady slept in her pickup truck with 30 parakeets, sometimes in the kh parking lot.
people tried to help her with accommodations but she like the truck.
she really dressed up for the meetings......feather boa's, big hats, looked like may west from the 30's.

I loved the crazies, they made it remotely interesting.
at the book study onne older guy would glaze over and give the most terrifying witness, regardless of the reading, and he always went last setting the memory, I think he thought he was teaching us a lesson or something, how serious the whole affair was.
So many variations of crazy its imposible to bring them all up.

my dirty fantasies
by varian inwhen i was a single jw, well, lets say around about my early 20ies, i used to to let my mind flow a bit during the kh meetings.. welll, anyway, i used to observe some of the "older" sisters around their late 30ies or 40ies in their stockings and high heels.
it really turned me on, i must admit.
i couldn t concentrate much of the programme due to this.

Hi
I'm from Toronto and now live in a suburb about a half hour north. Toronto weather is not that bad and has a nice variety of work- Markham is home to many big tech companies, we have a huge financial sector, automotive and services.
While taxes are higher, you get some pretty nice services, and everyone gets them, schools and libraries are good, not to many toll roads. Nice mix of people, Toronto has a big gay community, caribbean, italian, chinese... you could eat at a different type of restaurant everyday of the week. When I worked in automotive the Japanese people always loved to get sent here because they could get a such variety or authentic foods, some had been in Alabama and they complained that everything was deep fried, you could easily eat at 20 greek restaurants all within walking distance of one another.
An interesting note is that Windsor Ontario is actually south of Detroit and enjoys some pretty nice weather, being south of parts of California.
Canandians are different than Americans, it's subtle, and it may take a while to appreciate. Good luck, and as someone else mentioned, it's about a 7 day drive end to end, and most of us live in the most southern area, so it's hard to describe, with any justice, the whole thing in a few sentences.

J-Dub Gossip: How Do/Did You Handle It?
by DarioKehl inperhaps the biggest fear i have of leaving is the ensuing gossip that will follow.
i know it's stupid to worry about what will be said about me once i'm "out," but it kills me inside.
of course, that doesn't mean that i don't already deal with my fair share of gossip as it is while still "in.
