LIES, DAMN LIES, AND APOSTATES

today, there's a lot of awesome xjw's with youtube channels and websites, and discussion boards, dedicated to helping others successfully get free from the cult of the publishing corporation.

these folks have done wonderful work and make up a vast apostate army to take on the wts and their lies, and, they do so with integrity, and respect for truth.

if you are going to point your finger and call the wtbts liars, if you are going to put yourself on the line and take up the mantle of exposing those lies, and offer criticism, you should do so from the moral high ground of integrity and truthfulness.. .

I agree with you that the picture and discussion of it was "much ado about nothing". However there are many of us that still believe in the Bible, which condemns homosexuality. If you don't believe in Jesus, God, the Bible, etc. that is your right and I respect it.

By the same token Rick is a Christian man trying to combat the WT in his own way. Something you seem to be invested in as well. Here we all gather for common cause. Here we try and make sense of the sh!t we were taught by imperfect men and try to work through it. Why waste energy with the strong attacks and anger? A post stating that you thought his subject was homophobic and it bothered you is one thing. But your video and your post as it stands comes across very mean and childish to many of us.

Several of the comments on the YouTube page are similar in tone to what I'm saying. People are acknowledging that you have a point, but why be so mean, and such a little boy about it? If you don't like his show don't listen to it. If you think it's terrible, do your own podcast or conference call and show us how it should be done. That's how we make things better- by building others up, not just being in the "tearing down business" 24/7.

back in the late 80s when i was at brooklyn he would dress in a suit, have a book bag, and come and stand in front of the 124 bldg or sometimes over by the towers hotel.

he'd easily put in auxillary pioneer hours.

Back in the late 80s when I was at Brooklyn he would dress in a suit, have a book bag, and come and stand in front of the 124 bldg or sometimes over by the Towers Hotel. He'd easily put in auxillary pioneer hours. He would yell and bellow , and say "SLAAAAAAAAAAAVE!" really loudly, among other things. It would carry for blocks. He had a strong NY accent, looked to me in his early 60s at the time. It was hillarious, we would laugh and there was one Bethelite that could imitate him perfectly.He may have been mentally ill, but he sure was funny. The rumor was that he had been DFed for smoking back in the 70s and then he said well if you are going to DF for that, you should DF for drinking coffeee too.

Here's the things I remember seeing Coffee saying/doing:

"Are you a slave of God? Or a slave of the Watchtow-ahh?"

"Jimmy Swaggert Religion!"

"Michael Jackson Religion!"

"Suck-ahh...Dope...Slave!" (As you walked by, pointing his finger right in your face.)

If a sister was wearing red he would say "The Devil wears red!"

Onetime a businessman was walking by and he thought it was a Bethelite and pointed his finger in the guy's face and started doing the "Sucker Dope Slave" spiel and the man hauled off and punched him and coffee hit the sidewalk hard. A couple of Bethel boys actually picked him up and helped him. (I only heard this one at the table, didn't see it)

One time two waiters went by and he yelled "You kill your brothers you feed them coffee!". Then he added to the one that was of Asian descent, "What's for supper tonight? Chop Suey???"

Two guys from the moving crew were carrying a couch from the office buildings down the hill and he said "Brothers...Jesus said your load would be light...yet you are toiled down..."

If it was cold and he saw you coming, he would look the other way and say "Boy it's cold outside..." and then right when you passed him he'd get in your face and add "But not where you're going!!"

so did the 'da society' give these dub internet savvies permission to start a forum?

because last i checked, the ole boys in their oversized brooklyn bunker didn't want their members on the internet unless it was to view their own official websites.

i thought maybe it was an apostate forum until i read their long winded, typically condescending jdub style membership guidelines:.

I signed up and became a member of the site recently, to see what was going on.

While I am not an apologist for the WTO and hate the lies and elevation of the GB above Christ, these folks are trying their best to do what they believe is "the right thing". Why beat your fellow slaves and make fun of them? Does that make you feel better? We are here on this site because we want freedom to think and believe according to your conscience, and not be ridiculed or shunned for it. Why do that to these ones?

But yeah, somebody should supply the answers so more of us can join the site. Perhaps we will be able to reach some that are asleep and are capable of waking up to the lies.

i would value the opinion of anyone who has read this book.. i have recently orderd the book from amazon.. cluless..

Skimmed over quite a lot of it. It is full of make-believe and ridiculous conjecture. A friend of mine actually contacted the author. Mr. Merritt told him that he did not even believe the things he wrote in the book but was "experimenting" with philosophies. He also said he actually changes his religion every few years intentionally. The guy is a nut. Possibly an intelligent nut, but a loon nevertheless. And he certainly is not "sincere" in the way the dictionary defines the word. Here's a few quotes from JU:

Rick means well, but yeah, picketing in front of KHs especially on Memorial does not help the cause it make Witnesses feel persecuted and vindicates their feelings that all "Apostates" are angry disgruntled losers.

if you are posing as an elder, please, please refrain from responding lest you inadvertantly do some damage.. i have been provided hypothetical consequences from the membership at large, now request the answer from a position of authority.. the question.. if the elders in my wife's congregation should decide that i have become a spiritual danger to her, how would they advise her?

I too am in a similar situation. Also was an Elder for about 10 years. My wife actually agreed to go to marriage counseling, as whenever it comes up that I no longer believe the same as her it can escalate into WWIII. Am trying to make an appt this week. It sounds like you love each other and I really think that you can find happiness and stay together. But you have a right to live your life and your beliefs should be respected just as much as hers.

Best way to step down from being a servant

hey i'm wondering if anyone can give some good advice on how to step down in the safest way.. i have served as an ms for a number of years, but can't do it anymore.

i know too much i want to fade in the future when i get some family things straightened out.

i can't move right now so that's out unfortunately.. what should i tell the body?

jam- Have considered that and it may work. I will keep you posted.

watson- I was a drama major in college, so yes, probably, lol. But seriously, I have been a "high profile JW" in a number of ways over the years so I am well known....oi!

mamalove- I like that idea in theory, to just say "I dont' want to be an MS, end of story"...But if they don't get an answer from me then they will start asking the wife why and I DON'T want them to go there...she may tell them under pressure of my "apostate leanings".

willyloman- Thanks for the vote of confidence. I will work the plan, yes that's my style too...

WontLeave- Yeah I've seen that so I'll be careful. It's not that bad in this cong although others are like that, so it is good to prepared for the worse.

I am thinking at this point that I will go with a plan along these lines:

1. Ask to meet with the body
2. Read them a brief letter with the following wording-

"Dear Brothers
My wife and I have been having some marital problems over the last several months. We are seeking marriage counseling through my insurance. It has led me to feel very depressed and is affecting my health quite a bit. At meetings I put on a happy face but I am no longer qualified to serve. Please know that after much prayer and reflection my decision to step down as a servant is hereby submitted to you. I ask that this take place immediately.

Please keep me in your prayers, and allow me to concentrate on working with my wife on our marriage. It has been an honor to have served with you brothers.

My goal is to step down without them grilling me or my wife too much, and also in such a way that they will not want to come over and "help us" too much. If they want to make shepherding visits I am not sure how to get out of those though. We will see...

This will be followed by an immediate fade. I cannot start this process until early summer due to some family obligations so I have some time which is why I am planning now. Thank you all for the good comments. To those of you that are wise-a$$ ba$tards, thank you for the laughs.
