Am I the only one who really didn't enjoy x-mas?
by willdabeerman ini may sound like a bit of a scrooge here but i really didn't get into x-mas.i honestlly didn't enjoy it.or better yet not enjoy it but i don't get why everyone is so excited over it.don't get me wrong it was cool as hell to see my lil step daughter get all excited over her tons of presents.but i just dont get it.
you spend many hours and stressful days spending alot of money and you spend all this time setting everything up all for about an hours worth of actual celebrating it.the time ratio makes no sense to me.
it is cool however to spend a lil extra time with the family.

so, i was thinking about that number, and how it's actually written in the bible is a bit odd.

people dont worship political systems on the scale described in Revelation 13.. People worship religions on that scale. Throughout history, which has done more of slandering God's name, religion or politics? Which has committed more evil acts in God's name, religion or politics? Does politics really care about God, either for or against? They are more interested in becoming or remaining the ruling party in their country.
Throughout history, what happened to those who refused to believe in apostate Christianity and spoke against it? Off with their head. And also with Islam. It still happens now, although we should be grateful we live i na time where it is relatively easy to reject the beasts.
Unless you are a JW. Then it is just as nasty now as it was a few hundred years ago for those who saw the error of catholicism and other christian sects and either died or suffered for speaking out or were too afraid. If you refuse to be a JW - you are doomed to die at armageddon, you are "killed" by shunning. You cannot speak to or deal with JW's (well you can try but they will ignore you) All this stuff about clamping down on inactives is further to the cause of enforcing this.
God allows governments to exist to keep some sort of order. Which they do mostly although it could be a lot better. Religions exists without his permission and they create total disorder. As is totally evident throughout history.
Now I am not saying governments are perfect, cos man dominates man to his injury - but by peddling the lie that governments fulfill Revelation 13 they can putt people off the scent, and the truth that only religion can fulfill it.

Bible is God's word?

ive been so fascinated by the study of *real* biblical scholarship since i began educating myself, i now find it incredulous that i used to take the bible as divine, along with all jws and tons of christians, including a good number here.
so id like to entertain your very best lines of evidence that this is the real deal.. mox

Anyone who reads the bible properly will realise that the bible itself tells us what the Word of God really is, and it points to something other than itself...

Revelation 19:13It is none other than Christ, the law is no longer written on stone tablets for us, but it is written on our hearts.
There is so much more the bible tells us about itself, like it tells us that Acts and Luke are eyewitness accounts, not books inspired of God like Revelation is... Acts 1:1. Luke 1:1-5, Revelation 1:1, these are not the only ones, OT accounts such as Kings, Chronicles etc contradict each other and are clearly not inspired.
Putting your faith in a book, and not the one it testifies to is not the right way...... John 5:39-40. It can go horribly wrong from there, you start to miss the point and you end up spending too much time studying and recruiting and end up like MDS or the WTS instead of doing the simple things we are expected to do like charity and love.
The bible is just a book, with errors and additions / ommissions from what was originally given to man. Anyone who claims the bible is unaltered and preserved through history are misled.

What is so wrong and pathetic about teaching people to be grateful for what they have? All he wants is for us to not take food for granted cos how many millions of people die of starvation?
Why is God always to blame when men do stuff of their own free will? Quit creating a scapegoat for them, they are answerable for their own sins and its nobodies fault but their own. God doesnt allow it, but man is disobedient.

get with the program, if you are a true christian then you are supposed to preach the GOOD NEWS which is not "your gonna be judged" its to tell everyone they can be saved through Christ. Telling peope they are no longer under the burden of the law of death, they through Christ they are forgiven and released from it.
I also hope you realise that some of those who are judged according to their deeds will also recieve life, because some of them even tho they did not know it were helping those in Christ, and therefore doing good for Christ.
Unfortunately there are those who will perish, but why dont you quit focusing on the destruction of others and hope they will not be. Take your scare tactics and flush them down the toilet where they belong.
