i am a firm believer that "celestial events" as described in the bible and other works will appear during this year and next.
trust me the gov't knows something is going down but are not saying what, however they are preparing....

My opinion is, stop looking for all the details. If it's coming, it's coming and ain't nothing we can do 'bout it.
i had my "awakening" about a year ago, after spending my entire adolescent life feeling as if i was the only one among my associates with my head screwed on straight.
i was appalled by the nearly universal ignorance and deplorable close-mindedness and stupidty of the jws, the arbitrary dismissal of all scientific evidence as mere "human speculation", etc.
the 2008 change in the definition of the "generation" (at age 18) is what made me seriously commit to an investigation of my long held beliefs, a belief system and world view that had been permanently graphed onto my still developing brain as an infant.. some things the bee hive subscribe to are so irrational, yet i still held firmly to the belief that they must have the "truth", since i still believed in the bible as the inerrant, completely inspired word of god, and jws were the religion that most stringently adhered to actual bible teachings in a majority of cases - ie - no hellfire, no immortal soul, no trinity, etc... after an exhaustive study of the organization's origins in the russell and rutherford eras, and their history of constantly revised doctrines, failed predictions, and absurd beliefs subsequently abandoned and revised only after the passing of time deemed them impossible, i came to the conclusion that they were not "god's channel", and they certainly had no claim to exclusivity as "god's only chosen people who would survive destruction".... so that lead me to the next logical assumption..if not even the jws have the truth, and all the other christian denominations grossly misrepresent biblical teachings and distort the teachings of christ, and compromise on the principles he taughts us to abide by...then god has no earthly organization..he has abandoned us to our own devices...he has left us all alone, and he has left us in this state of affairs for at least the last 2,000 years... after moving beyond the the typical jw dismisal of all science that could possibly contradict the bible and their beliefs, i took up an objective, unbiased, study of science...and what i discovered is that without any presupositional limitations to one's critical analysis of the fact...science's theory of evolution is the best explanation for the diversity and nature of biological life around us...i also discovered that although there is dispute among scientists as to the explanation for evolution or the origin of life itself...that there is no dispute as to the validity of evolution.. the fact that evolution happened and continues to happen before our very eyes is incontrovertible...absolutely indisputable when objectively evaluating all the mountains of evidence..multiple lines of evidence that all converge at one point...common descent..as but one example - the anatomical distinction between homo sapiens sapiens and homo sapien neanderthalis emerge at a certain point in the fossil record..and not coincidentally the mapping of the neanderthal and modern human genomes point to a genetic divergence at the exact same time as the fossil record indicates!.

i know there are some intelligent witnesses that really research their beliefs, but the more i learn, the simpler and more ignorant watchtower doctrine appears.
that opinion is certainly not helped by some of the apologists that appear on this site.
most watchtower doctrine is a product of the black and white syndrome, where all the obvious shades of grey in between are simply ignored with statements such as "wait on jehovah".

Actually, this one ain't so simple for the anointed. I always wondered how anointed probably feel left out when they see an entire article devoted to the "earthly hope".

Although, I do have to say that paradise earth does appear to be Biblical, just not necessarily the JW version.

it seems pretty 'vanilla' in my scan through it, seems to lift up the male headship issue a few times and of course the cure to all ill is to 'attend christian meetings'.. am still working to fully open her eyes, anything in here i can use that may help, any conflicts with current doctrine i could possibly point out??.

it's incredible really - two weeks ago i was so confused and disturbed and felt like my whole life had been turned on it's end but that book made such a difference for me.
The biggest win you could have, even without "exposing the truth about the truth", is to have your family talk to you, and not give a damn about the shunning rule.
Once you win this, maybe you could introduce it(CoC). But for now, it seems to soon. And, I agree with the above responses.

i have heard of a couple of stories of possession, or of jw's talking to spiritists and the spiritists having seen 2 men following the jw, either dressed all in black, or all in white, and very strong looking.
yet, i have never experienced any of it.. another experience that i heard is about a brother whose mom had super-natural strength, and tossed something really heavy.

However, since Knowsnothing asked the question, I'd be interested in what s/he thinks.
First off, of the masculine persuasion.
Secondly, what do I think? The closest thing I had to a super-natural encounter was when I prayed to Jesus. This was my first time doing so, as being rased a witness, you would never do such a thing.
But, I'm skeptical even about this experience, because I had been under alot of stress prior to that, so maybe my mind simply found a coping mechanism, and made me believe it was real. The only thing I know, is that I had never felt a calm like that before, even when deeply and profoundly praying to Jehovah.
Really, I asked this question, because of the many "experiences" I heard within the JW community. I knew some of these brothers/sisters well, and have no reason to doubt them. To me, if they experiences are true, and not a figment of the imagination, misinterpretation or a trick of the mind, I believe then that it would give credence to the whole demon/angel belief. I still believe in God, just not in this religion. I haven't really found a theology I can adhere to.

the male remains were buried as a female would have been, and this brings up the question that the remains represent someone who was either homosexual or transgender.
