Ever hear the one about the dog named "Jehovah"? The householder tried to get it to attack a JW, but instead it turned upon its master...
Oh, and here's one about a crazy JW sacrifice...a poor faithful sister having the "courage" to stay with her abusive husband, so that he might be won without a word. Of course, after years of breaking her face, he eventually "comes into the truth".

Sure, things aren't always grand. We question our leadership at times. We question our lives' paths at times. But at least we have the freedom to choose those paths.
JWs who question the leadership -- who question too much period, and try to choose their own path will often find themselves swiftly "kicked to the curb" by "the loving brotherhood".
This is not an issue where folks should be amusing themselves by bringing up moot points in order to 'yank people's chains', and the clarification was much-needed.
I didn't observe any chain-yanking on the thread, and I doubt that was anyone's motivation. Obviously, there are some fallacies about this very sensitive issue.
JWD is very fortunate indeed to have an expert posting here to correct any erroneous beliefs surrounding this subject.

having manners effects so many aspects in life.
Two favorite, fun books on the subject that really do help to reinforce good manners in children (and adults!LoL): Manners Can Be Fun, and How to Behave and Why -- both by Munro Leaf (of ...Ferdinand fame).

So if for example Bryan May of Queen became an LW (perhaps deciding that he does in fact want to live forever, if for no other reason than to keep the fans happy in the Kingdom of God), and if he chose to keep his hair long, then he would not be able to speak out, either asking questions or engaging in debate in the LW equivalent of Question Time at full congregational meetings only. If he did speak out we would ask him to leave that meeting only. He could however sing at such meetings! Perhaps he could put it up in a bun?

Yes I know, but its not exactly the same caliber as that dude that kidnapped and murdered the kid in Fla. That the type these registries are supposed to protect people against, not someone who made an unwise choice at age 18. But I guess it's easier to be hysterical and make the kid that streaked the college campus be viewed as a perv the rest of their life.

It doesn't seem as though it would cost the state much to differentiate high-risk offenders (Fla. kidnapper/murderer) from low risk offenders (college campus streaker).
