  i was 12 in 1975. i never believed i'd "make it".

  after i made it, i never really trusted adults again.

  all the shameless self-attaboys, and fictitious observations by non-jws remarking on how jws provided the most and best assistance to the victims..

  Governing Body Hates Higher Education Because It Destroys Their Delusion

  in an effort to keep their delusion alive it is only natural for them hate something that lifts the vails of their delusion and lay it barren.

  their hate is transfered to the faithful rank and file and manifested in their forbidding it to the young who will surely see the ignorance of their delusion.

  narcissistic delusions of divine appointment are resisted at the expense of the young.. they hate higher education to the same extent they hate psychiatry because both tread on their delusion and identify it in clear terms..

  This subject nauseates me.

  It's fear, plain and simple. Their cultishness is exposed at university.

  You can't be a good, honest student in college and NOT start to question things.

  Humbled, I'm glad you shared your experience. It reaffirms what I believed to be tue about them.

  I wish someone on here knew what happened. Apparently after everything happened to my dad, Bro Gorham called a couple times but at the time, we thought they were just calling to save us... And we don't want no saving.

  My dad said he'd try to find out what their number / address was.

  The Only True Doctor – A Parable

  a friend of mine recently found out a few years back that she had an aggressive form of breast cancer.

  she went to many doctors, but all of them told her she had to have a mastectomy and undergo radiation therapy.

  that seemed really unappealing to her.

  Thanks, TFC. I came up with it in the shower last night and quickly ran upstairs and typed it up. I started with "the one true pizzeria" but that didn't seem serious enough. I hate what this org does to people... While pretending they're really helping. *sigh*

  Distrust and paranoia among faders

  hi guys.

  i'm interested in knowing whether any other faders out there ever find themselves feeling a little paranoid about establishing contact with other faders or former jws, just in case the unthinkable happens and things turn sour.. personally, i'm now fairly comfortable with the idea that i will be disfellowshipped or disassociated within the next year or so.

  i see it as inevitable, and an essential transition in order to do what i want to do with my life.

  Yeah. We're living that dream. Only we (husband and i) don't care if we get DF, but our hands are tied because of the impact to others in the family. Makes it extra hard because we'd like to shout our freedom from the rooftops.
