Stopping my bible study with the JW's

this is my first post after lurking for months.

hopefully i won't make any mistakes while typing and trying to post this so please bear with me!.

i had a bible study with jehovah's witnesses and i stopped the studies with them a couple of years back.

Best way to step down from being a servant

hey i'm wondering if anyone can give some good advice on how to step down in the safest way.. i have served as an ms for a number of years, but can't do it anymore.

i know too much i want to fade in the future when i get some family things straightened out.

i can't move right now so that's out unfortunately.. what should i tell the body?

I would would just sit with an elder and explin that things are getting to be to much and you want to put your family first. Tell him you feel that you feel you are getting to strerssed out and need a short break.... if you act like you just need a breather then they will understand and think it will just pass. It will also make you loook better if you say things like "its better for the congergation an dmy family"

Elder book....Not the shepared

i remember a friend of mine telling me that her husband had a book that were used byt elders only....i am not sure if this is the same book as the topic posted before..but i was wondering if anyone had a copy or knew where i could get a copy.

i am talking about the book that has all the experiences of what to do in a judicial meeting.

i remember when i had mine i could hear one of the brothers reading it and at the end he said those brothers found it grounds for a disfellowshiping..however i was df'ed..but i know that no one is allowed to read it but the elders and for some reason i do not think it is the shepard book.

Nickolas - I am in the same shoes as you...Some times I feel so alone even with my husband sitting right by me... Because we just arent on the same page of life anymore, even tho I love him deeply. Our lives are moving in different derections and the more I try to stop it the gap just gets bigger and bigger. I do not know what is in store for my husband and I but I hope we work it for our childs sake. Its hard to be in this stop because you want a happy life and you want your mate to have all the same joys in life as you know she should have. The only problem is you have a group of people telling her she will never be in the new sysytem if she ejoys her life, her marraige... Thats hard a hard thing to fight against...

Should I contact the Society and tell them I want out?

as of late i have been thinking about this.

my sig other and i have successfully faded, and the last kh i attended (cards were moved to) was like 8+ years ago.

i really do not care either way, however i have been asking myself as of late if i should.

I think if it bothers you to still be apart of the org, I would mail the letter......................However for me out of sight out of mind.....And why give them anything to say about you. You do not owe them anything, and if your family member chose to shun you then that is her choice, not your fault. You can not feel guility for what another chose to do.

I personally would not waste my time after being out so long anyway.....They aren't worth the stamp its going to cost you to mail the letter...

Have the rules changed for inactive people?

cause i see a bunch of inactive doing disfellowshipping things and its known by the elders and the elders aren't doing anything because they are inactive.... so, just wondering if the rules have changed, or there is more of a loophole somewhere that wasn't there before?.

Scully, Did you every find out if the Elders ever did make such an anoucment? I would ask them to show the letter, if they did...

OK from what I know, and I am still in...Is that they leave you alone...Infact, there is a brother here that was a son on an Elder but he left the truth when he went away to college..He since has got married. I guess now he wants to come back. He has been out for about 10 years. So what our Elders have done is just study with him. Everything he did, and is still doing, doesnt matter I guess.. I find it strange but that is what they do here. Not that personally care what he has done, because I dont but i seems to me that everyone always wants everyone to be in trouble for something but our Elders seem to study with the ones that want to come back and they dont DF them..Hope this helps.
