As for meeting with JWs...if they are willing to ALLOW you to show them scriptures and references even if from older publications without freaking and calling you an apostate or antichrist or whatever..that in itself is a miracle. And means, at least to me, that they heard a bunch of what you said. And if they are coming BACK...even moreso is there an opportunity for THEM to learn. But all they will have to do is mention to anybody else that they are having this conversation with you and they will be forced to cut it off. Thats the tactic as soon as someone starts to lean them to the left or right of Watchtower Central thinking...the accused needs to be CUT OFF from them.

ever since i can remember i have attended the memorial only for my mothers sake though.
i am not a jw nor do i have any desire to ever become one but i know it means alot to my mom.
although now i have been enlightened on many things about her religion that i do not want any part of and i do not want to go.
You were never a JW and she is pushing this on you? And if she "stops talking to you" because you didnt go will she also stop talking to every other human being on the planet who didnt go? If your relationship with your mother is based on spiritual blackmail, then mom needs to step back. Or step off.
You might point out that if you belong to the Ku Klux Klan and you asked her to go to one of your meetings with you and she refused, you wouldnt stop talking to her because it bothered HER conscience to go and appear to support a group like that.
Like Phil says..."You teach people how to treat you." If you acquiesce...this will continue and you will come to dread every Memorial because you know this inevitable fight will ensue.

Judgementalism is a way of life for JWs. Like caged animals, they turn on each other and start picking on each others lives like vultures on roadkill. They have NOTHING ELSE TO DO but belittle and tattle and beat down their fellow slaves. Its disgusting. This is why I would NEVER WANT TO BE IN PARADISE WITH THESE PEOPLE!! Jesus...the thought of living in a world with ONLY JWs would drive me to suicide to end the misery.
They dont have to WAIT to get it in writing to dismiss, shun, ignore or bully other human beings. The society was CONSTANTLY telling us not to associate with "weak ones" citing their time sheets as an indicator of whether or not they were strong and therefore worthy, to be associated with.
It doesnt need to be in writing for them to start their OWN LAWS and their OWN RUMORS and suddenly you are on the OUTSIDE.

for 18 months i have been at loggerheads with my wife over the wts.
she has been the perfect watchtower slave even declaring that she'll never leave the truth.
i decided not to interfere in her life, attacking the society, and the idiots in the hall, but recently things have changed for the best.
Wowzers! Congratulations! Im sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous!! But I hold out hope that someday the hubby will GET IT. He has been sporadically going to meetings the last three weeks but started MISSING already again. I saw a "What Does the Bible Really Teach" book laying on the counter tonight which would be the bookstudy night...but I also know my son has a varsity volleyball game at the same time so...we will see which he goes to. :)

i did finally get a reply from my dad (after a week and a half) and i almost wish i hadn't.
Maybe you and hubby need to be a united front in this? You might reply..."If you dont talk to me, your own daughter, you dont talk to my husband you dont see your granddaughter. You arent going to have your cake and eat it to. And if you want to visit the baby you do so with ME there so you dont spread your vile hatred of your only child to my children behind my back."
