We're 110+. I try not to stay in my air conditioned house, office, or car as much as possible. If I have to do things around the house I do them at night. I try not to go outside unless I'll be in a body of water.

I wouldn't bombard him because you could easily push him away but you can honestly answer questions he asks. It's possible that he's curious and has doubts, or he could just be a good person and a true friend. There are four witnesses that are still in that talk to me on a regular basis even though they know I am DA'd. We still hang out and do things together when our schedules permit. They are good people and the only people in the org that I consider ever having been my true friends.

When You Left The Organization Were False Rumors Being Circulated About You?
by minimus ini heard i was "too interested in making money" and that i was letting "worldly pleasures" get in the way.. did you ever hear anything about your departure??
?.

Only one I heard was that I was DF'd. I guess that when they announce from the platform that someone is no longer a witness everyone assumes the person was DF'd. I mean why would anyone DA? I wouldn't be surprised if there were rumors floating around about why they thought I was DF'd, although I never did anything that would have warranted a JC.

Joining the Military. :D
by lucky1rish inso, i am in my early 20's.
i'm a firefighter, an emt, and hazmat technician (those guys that take care of chemical accidents), and i'm wanting more of a challenge in my line of work.
i've always loved saving people, i keep calm in frantic situations and i love the challenges.

by Little Imp in.
i have just had a new mobile phone for my birthday (having upgraded from a very old one) and was amazed to find that there is actually a "ministry" app on it for jehovahs witnesses.. i am probably a bit behind the times mentioning this but i hadn't seen any threads on it since i have been on the site and as i say am new to this type of phone with "apps".. my husband could hardly believe it when i showed him.. .

The best app for meetings and field service is Angry Birds.

"Banned in Brooklyn"
by Quendi ini hope this thread generates some discussion as well as some amusement.
i want to talk about "banned books".
back in the middle ages, the roman catholic church issued its index librorum prohibitorum, the list of prohibited books.

Anything remotely fun to read. Anything with vampires, zombies, ghosts, magic, science fiction, other religions, fantasy, war, crime, or sex. Most textbooks especially psychology and science.
I was amazed by the number of witness parents, including elders, that would let their kids watch and read The Chronicles of Narnia series but wouldn't let them have anything to do with Harry Potter. I'm not really a fan of children's books except for ones I grew up with but I really enjoyed the Harry Potter series, especially the later books.

The only one I can think of is Genesis 3:19, to dust we shall return. That one is accurate even if it's not considered a prophecy.

Welcome!
It's never too late to go back to school. When my sister graduated with her BS the oldest person graduating was 75 or 76. Not sure what country you are in but you can check out junior or community colleges if they have them or something like them where you live. You can expose yourself to a variety of disciplines at a lower cost than going to a regular university. Education is education, you don't have to pursue a degree if you don't want to, you can just take courses that interest you.
