what are your opinions of ewatchman.com
by Evidently Apostate inlooking at some of his responses to comments on his videos on youtube i think he is rude, and condecending, not unlike the jw's he defends.
if he is trying to defend the majority of the doctrine why do it from outside the org?.

False Christians chose the modern Bible books
by lifeisgood inone of the issues that i discovered when i took two years off from the jws to just study the bible is the contents of the modern bible do not even come close to matching the contents of the holy books that the first christians used.
not even close.
off by over 550 books.. now, the jws claim that the catholic church is false religion.

re:Book of Jasher, the one you bought is a fake.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sefer_haYashar_%28Biblical_references%29
The Book of Jasher is the normal English name (used by, e.g., the King James Bible) of a work known in the original Hebrew as Sefer haYashar, (??? ????; also transliterated Seper haiYašar). It is the best-known of several "Lost books of the Old Testament", books referenced in the Hebrew Bible of which no copies are known to exist. The original Hebrew translates as "Book of the Upright".
A forged 'translation' sometimes referred to as Pseudo-Jasher was created in the 19th century written in pseudo-Elizabethan English.

What in the world is wrong with public displays of affection?
by Mad Sweeney ina comment or two made on the "gay glee" thread prompts this question.
a couple posters said that gay people shouldn't show affection in public and went on to add that even heterosexual affection in public makes them uncomfortable, or it isn't appropriate, or whatever.. my question is simply, why?.
my wife and i are very affectionate in public and i know it has honked off some people but we frankly don't understand why..

looky looky - A 'real' J-dub forum! (are they becoming normal???)
by Reality79 inso did the 'da society' give these dub internet savvies permission to start a forum?
because last i checked, the ole boys in their oversized brooklyn bunker didn't want their members on the internet unless it was to view their own official websites.
i thought maybe it was an apostate forum until i read their long winded, typically condescending jdub style membership guidelines:.

Clearly I was wrong on that, way more common that I think even some here thought. I had personally never heard of it. Meetings on Sunday varied all over, even had some on sat in cases, but I had never heard of the TMS or book study starting at 7.
Oh well.

Over at JWTalk is actually rather amusing. The conversations are full of things like "The assembly was great!", "Where did Cain get his wife?", The TMS this week was GREAT!", "Is Libya the new King of the North?", "We are SOOOO lucky to be JDUBS!", "If someone isn't a JDUB, where do they get morals from?", "Is it OK to hunt?", "I need ideas for a talk on paradise?", "How do you deal with an evolutionist?" and full of such brilliant answers as "I like to ask evolutionist where the first two particles they think smashed into each other came from if no one created them! They can't answer that!" and "They ain't gots no morals! Only us JDUBS got them!"
In short, typical JDub morons that don't even understand the questions they think they are so brilliantly answering. It's rather amusing, actually. I know that at least one member there reads this forum, she posted something from here once asking for advice on how to answer it.
They are salivating at the thought of the UN banning religion over the trouble in the middle east. Nary a tear for the billions killed, they just want their damn pet lion.

I still stand by my football comment.
Weird. My ex took the kids to the CA in the fall and is taking them again this month. Are there really not two circuit assemblies per year anymore?

just n from bethel, I think for forgot there are TWO special assembly days and TWO circuit assemblies. Add in 96 more hours for that, plus having to DVR all your favorite shows and meetings interfering with important shit like, watching football and playing golf.

Ok, caught up on the thread. If there are huge places where 7 is normal, so be it. 7:30 is much more common. I've been to meetings in NC, SC, GA, NYC, NJ, CA, TN, FL, Moscow and probably a few places I can't remember I never once saw a 7:00 start time.
Since I am obviously wrong, I'll apologize and retract that one.
The rest of it, though, is still BS. As nugget said, doesn't hang together.
Anyone notice he says he knows BD, are face book friends and said BD wasn't a witness but was very spirtually encouraging?
