  Converted at 22 . . . burned out at 48 . . . so much of your story is so familiar . . .

  I sat down at the dinner table with my wife and kids, and FOR THE FIRST TIME really saw my beautiful wife and two wonderful children.... I am extremely fortunate to still have my family and to find some balance now in my life.

  You and me both . . . my 3 sons are all born-in but grown men now . . . and OUT . . . all I'm left with now is some residual guilt for all the "lost years"

  Life only get's better from here . . . enjoy your family and your new life . . . and the Forum . . . you'll like it here.

  Is there no hope? (daughter getting baptized)

  i'm really distraught about the fact my 23 year old daughter is ready to abandon a potential career in writing where her talent lies, and become a jehovah's witness.

  i banned the study being held in our home, but it only hurt my relationship with my daughter, who screamed at me "i pay to live here and i'm not hiding, you're sabotaging my relationship with god!

  " so i gave in.

  LOL Steve . . . you're wearing your kick-ass boots today mate. It's all a good call though . . . and Jgnats post is worth reading several times to get your head around where you will best fit into the equation.

  She is still wavering in some areas it would appear, so OTWO's recommendation is one I would encourage you to follow up . . . but you're going to have to be subtle . . . and smart . . . you will need to do your homework very well if you're going to have success in prevention at this stage.

  Just take your time and don't present anything in such a way as to reflect negatively on her personally . . . Staying close and being her "Mum" is something you can do, as JGnat showed, and will prove to be vital to her whatever way it works out.

  well, i'm going to break this up, because if anyone has read any of my posts, you know i can be long-winded.

  yep, i'm the person that can leave a minute or two message on a v.m.. i have been on this board for a month or two and wanted to make sure i'd be sticking around before i intro'd myself, so here i am.

  i see her facebook page, all of her pictures has cleavage in them, i would not want to date her because she shows too much all the time.

  i am tempted to tell her to cover up her cleavage, she might not like me telling her that.

  I feel a bit sorry for the poor bugger . . . it doesn't get much worse on the humiliation front . . . getting jeered at 6.05 in the middle of time square . . . plus coughing up 140K . . . maybe he should be on suicide watch.

  No one here has appreciation for such things so you're not expected to understand.

  How the hell can you be so arrogant as to say that! . . . You don't even know who I am, where I've been, where I live . . . so how do you know I have no appreciation of the biblical teachings on the sanctity of blood?

  TD is quite right . . . and the pre-existing command is found in the Mosaic Law . . . which is no longer binding on Christians.

  The context under which this so called "decree" was made was concessionary to the Jews who were bloody-minded troublemakers in the first century . . . much like JW's are today. But I'm not going to waste my time explaining the context when anyone with half a brain can read and see it for themselves.

  The above statement you made is typically JW . . . patronisingly dismissive when you have no logical argument . . . what you fail to see is, it appears to us normal folks as simply moronic.
