  It makes no sense whatsoever that a" CREATOR" would only communicate with a minority of the population then put the onus on them to convey this life saving message to the WHOLE wide world

  i now find it idiotic that i could ever beleive the bible to be the inspired word of god.....,throughout the bible "god"has only dealt with a few of his favoured spokespersons to deliver his messages to a minority populace.individuals at first,..... then, patriarchs,nomads,a small nation,ignoring all other nations that had sprung up.......,abandoning his chosen nation,sending his "son"to a small nation, only giving them his pearls of wisdom,much of what was not even recorded for prosperity and remember he never wrote a word,it was left up to other imperfect humans to record what he was supposed to have said,just a smidgen......,again ignoring the bulk of humankind keeping them in ignorance of his plan for universal salvation,leaving it all up to imperfect humans to spread this message of salvation, whom he has already condemned for their sinfullness and disobedience.i just find it so unbeleivable.

  in the 6000 years of recorded history only a fraction of the earths population,maybe less than a third have ever heard of the god of the bible, or his so called plan to redeem humankind ,thats millions and millions of people.

  ( india,arabic,afghanistan,pakistan etc.etc.).

  Smiddy . . . I think your question set up a typical JWN chemical chain-reaction.

  The statement in your OP is hard to refute . . . you're right, it doesn't make sense. The evolution and dissemination of human religious belief shows no sign of God's involvement IMO. It has all the characteristics of an entirely human-originated affair . . . which is why it has become so random and haphazard. Religion is as guilty as any individual, in it's collective attrocities and conflicts etc. God is not with any of them . . . none . . . why the hell would he be?

  Science does require imagination, though, and that's one aspect it shares with faith. Although in science, imagination is used to dream up ideas which are then tested, whereas in religion imagination is used to dream up ideas which are then believed. . . . SBC

  quite possibly one of the most succinct definitions I've read here.

  Simple is usually best . . . cuts through all the crap.

  I think that statement is beyond challenging . . . scientifically speaking of course.

  today i added a new article to my blog about a newly published book containing a chapter on jehovahs witnesses.

  what makes this chapter interesting is that its written by a licensed doctor who is one of jehovahs witnesses.

  The powerful coercive tool of shunning is not the WTS favourite subject . . . especially when linked with the death-dealing blood policy. I think the burden of culpability it creates is too much to even admit to themselves out loud . . . let alone anybody else.

  The general ignorance of the consequences for JW's of shunning, works in WTS favour . . . and fails to link the mechanism with the result. This creates a false impression that blood refusals are individually voluntary . . . once again working in WTS favour.

  The insidious reluctance is obvious here too . . . thanks Marvin.

  today i added a new article to my blog addressing overall mortality suffered as a result of watchtowers blood doctrine.

  to the best of my knowledge this is the first attempt at such an extrapolation based on data gathered that is both verifiable and offers sufficient information to measure frequency in this particular patient population (jehovahs witnesses).

  Thanks for the figures Marvin. I followed your extrapolations closely and would suggest they are responsibly conservative . . . Steve2's point considered also. I saw a few blood dramas as a JW . . . harrowing affairs. My wife bled all over an operating theatre floor while I watched. Thanks to capable staff and random good fortune . . . she and my youngest are still here 17 years later.

  Only the most callous and cold-hearted scumbags could ever be architects of this. The blood in their own veins could never pay the debt they owe. Bastards.

  A relevant section under recommendations . . .

  The glaring error lies in the exemption for confession. I understand that this exemption no longer exists in UK or some USA legislation. If anyone could point me in the right direction? . . . I'd like to find it.

  47. The Crimes Act 1958 (Vic) should be amended to create a separate reporting duty where there is a reasonable suspicion a child or young person who is under 18 is being, or has been, physically or sexually abused by an individual within a religious or spiritual organisation.

  The duty should extend to:

  - A minister of religion; and

  - A person who holds an office within, is employed by, is a member of, or a volunteer of a religious or spiritual organisation that provides services to, or has regular contact with, children and young people.

  An exemption for information received during the rite of confession should be made. A failure to report should attract a suitable penalty having regard to section 326 of the Crimes Act 1958 and section 493 of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
