  i dated someone earlier tonight and she looks pretty good, she invited me over to her home.

  she has a very good salary(she has phd degree) but i do not understand why she chose to live in a white trash mobile home park.

  i asked her how long she is going to live there, she said she just signed 2 year lease last month.

  back in 2003/4 when i was living in truth or consequences, new mexico there was this sister and her non witness husband that moved into our area.

  it was plain to see that the sister was suffering from serious mental problems.

  she was a very nice lady, but was unstable a lot of the time.

  Wow . . . what a tragic story. Suicide seemed to follow me around during my 20+ years as a witness. 10 people, 8 of them quite close, several very close, suicided. By the time the last event occurred, I thought I was more "aware" in this area . . . but I still never saw it coming.

  Mental illness is a lonely and frightening experience . . . even with first class care. What his woman had to face alone is truly heartbreaking. I know that feeling of wishing I had done more . . . but remember, even if you did, that doesn't guarantee a good result.

  As I said in another thread . . . this organisation has a callous spine running right up it's back, that is clearly seen in hindsight. We're not like that . . . that's why we're not with them anymore.

  It's all a bit legalistic and patronising to me now . . . like Elders need copious letters of instruction on how to behave like decent human beings . . . let alone "Christians." The anonomous victims are to be patronised by superficial concern masking any personal disdain . . . on orders from WT. The subtle connection to mental illness is also a card that's always played when their precious reputation is threatened. A convenient fall-back postion when required.

  This organisation has a callous spine running up it's back . . . that's only really observable with the clarity of hindsight.

  the blood issue is not a medical issue.. if blood transfusions were 100% guaranteed to be safe, jw's would still refuse them.. it is all about their interpretation of certain scriptures concerning blood.. you can make every reference known to medicine in mankinds history, and it doesn't make a bit of a difference.. it is a religious issue.. nightowl.

  While it's no great surprise . . . it's still hard to believe that Franz had premeditated the purpose of the doctrine to that extent. Not because I doubt the veracity of the account . . . it's just such a heinous, murderous thing to instigate for those reasons. Immoral at the most basic level . . . it's not easy to come to terms with.

  Neither a religious nor a medical issue . . . simply a control one.

  Most definitely . . .

  My father was a pretty absent figure in my boyhood. I spent a lot of my young life striving for his approval which never came . . . and still loved and admired him till the day he died, in spite of him being a bit of an arsehole. My life went out of control for a while as a youth . . . plenty of violence.

  The hole his Dad leaves is huge, believe me. And only one person can fill it. It can very much be the cause of his latent anger. Get some assistance with it, if it's available. Although it sounds against his nature to be violent . . . he may need help dealing with the cause.

  This tin shed's too small for 9 people . . . and we're sick of the dirt floor.
