  i'm currently without a cellphone after reading a text message that made me play twist and internally shout with my cell phone.

  been a while since i did something this retarded but it did feel good and natural at the time.

  i went to bestbuy for a new phone and decided i dont want to talk with anyone right now anyway.

  Although it wasn't in anger . . . it was symbolic.

  a former new south wales priest claims to have witnessed a "system of cover-ups" within the catholic church to hide child sexual abuse.. kevin lee was ordained as a priest 20 years ago and worked as a police chaplain for some of that time, but was relieved of his parish responsibilities in western sydney this year when he admitted to marrying a woman in secret.. his comments follow those of that the catholic church is involved in cover-ups and paedophile priests have destroyed evidence to avoid prosecution.. mr lee told lateline on friday that abuse is widely covered up in the church and that he first became aware of it as soon as he was in the seminary.. "people used to tell me and people in the first parish i was in started to confess their frustration with the authorities and the church for not dealing with the abuse that happened to their sons," he said.. mr lee says during the course of his life as a priest, he became aware that some of those around him were paedophiles.. "i became aware that some of the other priests were actually paedophiles and were not necessarily becoming priests because they wanted to help people, but because they were paedophiles who wanted the opportunity," he said.. mr lee says a church protocol was in place for dealing with cases of child sexual abuse, but it was not actually used.. "i saw a system of cover-ups, a system of blind-eye turning and just ignorance of the fact that it was happening," he said.. he says he took his concerns to superiors within the church but was knocked back.. "in my earlier years as a priest, i was having these people coming to me in confession or just sharing in counselling sessions their experience of frustration and anger with the church that had ignored their pleas of justice when their children had been abused and i started writing the notes down," he said.. "i was speaking to a barrister at one point and i thought he was going to help my case by putting it forward in some legal process.. "he said 'document everything you have', and everything i had i took to authorities within the church and i was told i needed more evidence.".

  Excellent OP . . . I'll catch up with the rest of it. The lids are popping off the worm cans here in NZ as well . . . it's becoming a hot issue. As it needs to. Innocent and vulnerable victims without advocacy or recourse, as with children, are the most horribly victimised as is humanly possible.

  the other thread with this name in the title made me think of it again.. i know the witnesses used to say this - and for sure, there are other religions that think this as well.. the fundy-baptist preacher that my sister got to do my fathers funeral made a big deal of it during the service - (why, i cannot fathom...).. so, can some kind scholar here give us a short course in why this particular star formation is so most holy?.

  Pleiades is very significant in our local Maori culture and is known as "Matariki" . . . or "tiny eyes"

  It appears in the north close to the horizon for only a short period, over the winter solstice. It actually marks the traditional Maori "new year" which begins the day after the rising. I think I've got that right.

  Hey . . . it's bloody hard work. Maybe he was just tired and half way through a cold beer. He's only human . . . and beyond his front gate is a largely hostile world.

  A man's home is his castle . . . and yet he still feels a sense of obligation to 2 total strangers standing uninvited on his own doorstep. I credit him for that alone.

  we loose too many jws from apathy of the "holy-happy and self-assured members,the new pharisee class.

  focus needs to change to check up on the under to non-performing magazine salesmen.

  We all go through it . . . so please don't think I don't sympathise.

  I stayed for a while against every fibre screaming ... go! That was 10 years ago now . . . and one thing I'll never regret is completely washing my hands of them when I finally did. Everyone's circumstances are different . . . but if you're already fading . . . attention is something you don't need. And empowering them by playing thier game by thier rules is as dangerous as it sounds.

  Being deceived is a legitimate cause for anger and resentment. But let your fire burn out here . . . and they'll soon disappear over your horizon. Time adds perspective and you have a life to live . . . and you will be OK.

  We all get colds . . . fairly regularly LOL. I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon . . . until next time.

  What you're suggesting is a normal, practical, loving thing to do . . . you'll miss the target on all three. They're a cult . . . as in, they make the rules . . . you follow them. You'll never guilt them . . . they're trained to look for dissent and an independent attitude . . . and then DF you. It's how they roll. That's all they will see. The clinch question will be . . . "Do you believe that the F&DS are God's channel blah blah . . . "

  I would avoid your two pastors if possible . . . good seldom comes from it.
