I tend to agree . . . in this country (NZ) a super volcano erupted approximately 2000 years ago (ironically) and ejected material that flowed across the landscape in a pyroclastic cloud approximately 5000 ft in height and travelling at over 250 mph . . . covering eventually about 60% of the North Island (25-30,000 sqm) . . . there was no human habitation at that time however.
Human population has grown of course but do we need divine prophecy to predict that?
The increased competition for worldwide resources among humans will produce a whole raft of problems and profound change for sure . . . but many dominant species have faced a similar redressing of imbalance in the past.
The nature of this planet with it's natural cycles and the proliferation of the human species upon it will have consequences . . . but nothing at present suggests a sudden worldwide annihilation of 99.9% of the human race . . . . except for some people's interpretation of Divine vengeance.
Nature and chance seem a lot less destructive than that
