  Eatrhquakes, wars, pestilence...all normal for earth no "sign" of the end! Agreed?

  it's a bit like me predicting "there will be great storms this month and firey hot days with no end, and there will be floods and homeless people...soon a volcano will destroy many lives....and then the end will come..." obvious isn't it?

  all jesus prophecies are a normal part of human nature {wars} or a consequence of living on earth {earthquakes in earthquake zones, durrrr!

  and pestilence has always existed} agreed?.

  I tend to agree . . . in this country (NZ) a super volcano erupted approximately 2000 years ago (ironically) and ejected material that flowed across the landscape in a pyroclastic cloud approximately 5000 ft in height and travelling at over 250 mph . . . covering eventually about 60% of the North Island (25-30,000 sqm) . . . there was no human habitation at that time however.

  Human population has grown of course but do we need divine prophecy to predict that?

  The increased competition for worldwide resources among humans will produce a whole raft of problems and profound change for sure . . . but many dominant species have faced a similar redressing of imbalance in the past.

  The nature of this planet with it's natural cycles and the proliferation of the human species upon it will have consequences . . . but nothing at present suggests a sudden worldwide annihilation of 99.9% of the human race . . . . except for some people's interpretation of Divine vengeance.

  Nature and chance seem a lot less destructive than that

  I ended my bible study today

  i have officially stopped my bible study today.

  i have been trying to for weeks (after 10 years of on/off studying).

  it got to the stage where i was asking too many of those questions that made everyone feel uncomfortable.

  Still thinking . . . Christ himself reproved the Pharisees for "searching the scriptures because you think by means of them you will find everlasting life" . . . a largely selfish motive if the truth be told. And yet I will now admit that this was a prime motive for me also. I suspect I am not alone in that.

  By contrast . . . the example and recommendations Christ gave were as much about how we view and treat others, as they were about personal benefit . . . and regarding himself said . . . "he who has seen me has seen the Father also"

  There is a lot to be said for spending time 'in the red' . . . and you don't need a DJEggNog (or anyone else) for that.

  Indeed . . . if one ponders "motive" . . . therein dwells the identity of the "Christian" . . . the inner man. Not belief in doctrines, dates or even aligning oneself with an identifiable group

  I don't wish to point finger . . . but certain religions identify their collective "motive" quite clearly, and for that reason can be found at odds with what you read "in the red"

  i texted a fader in our hall, she suddenly stopped coming to the meetings a few months ago (i must admit it took me a few months to notice as i'm rarely there myself).

  in part, this is what she said:.

  hi mickey, thank you for your message it's nice to know that you care x i'm doing well, mentally emotionally and physically i'm feeling much better and stronger.

  getting through the tough steps toward real freedom from the wts involves a lot of work for some.

  many, start out angry that their authentic lives were hampered by a high-control group of men posing as god's organization.

  we feel robbed of something we can't quite put our finger on sometimes.

  When I first woke up to the deception . . . I had a lot of anger . . . I mean a lot. After several years and a lot of 'distractions' that personal anger faded to be replaced by a genuine sorrow for those still trapped.

  Now I feel I'm in "third phase" . . . angry again. Angry for the vulnerable young people trying to find there way in life (as I was 30 years ago), who after being successfully indoctrinated, will inevitably suffer either the sexual abuse of their children, unneccesary medical risks, the judgement and shunning of friends and family, mental illness etc etc. Perhaps even all of the above . . . a ruined life.

  I'm angry that I can't prevent what happened to me, from happening to someone else . . . someone who still has their life ahead of them . . . someone who hasn't even met them yet. My anger-turned-pity has turned back into anger of a different kind altogether.

  I sympathise with your feelings and situation . . . but have to agree with much of the above . . .

  My feelings are that the issue most likely to attract attention is child sexual abuse . . . if that got some momentum and increased exposure, the other damaging aspects of this cult would perhaps become add-ons.

  The media / ratings principle is valid . . . and there's heaps of "competition" for public attention. Media is not necessarily the first port of call . . . certain government agencies can be 'put on notice' and feel obliged to act . . . and Media attention can follow. Once again, the child sexual abuse issue is the best place to start.

  Any manoevering "room" for interpretation that exists in the 'regular' version can be clarified by consulting the 'simplified' version . . . ultimate result; tighter control
