  (those of you wondering why i ask, i wonder just how stubbornly he will hold on to his false statement -- one of many -- even though it is a relatively benign and non-religious topic.

  Undercover apostates...

  i've observed some forum users here that claim to be active witnesses (even claims to be ministerial servants or elders) while duplicitously supporting apostates online.

  my contention is this; why attend meetings and/or participate in the preaching activity when the second you divulge your apostate thinking into the congregation, you'll be disfellowshipped?

  while this action taken may seem to be harsh, the outworking of events wouldn't be much different in one of christendom's churches.

  sizemik: I do consider the Genesis record to be historical narrative, not allegorical. I am younger earth creationist (www.icr.org) and believe in Adam/Eve (because Jesus, the Truth, did in the Gospels....creation marriage mandate), Fall, Global (vs local) flood, etc. (because Jesus, Truth did).

  I once held a similar belief and for quite some time.

  The problem I have now, in particular with the flood account, is that the geological evidence just does not support such an event ocurring in the recent past.

  If it were to be true . . . it would require God to remove all physical evidence of it. Not only that, but to replace that evidence with new evidence to the contrary . . . do you think he did this?

  That sort of duplicity is so hard to counter because they JUST DON"T SEE IT!

  I read jlp's post on your other thread . . . sound strategy.

  Time together will enable you to feel her out . . . but beware . . . JW "feeding" can quickly create distance.

  Also . . . just preserving your great relationship will of itself hold up a "cost" to her for getting in too deep. Especially if the closing years are a concern . . . close to you is a superior way to spend them . . . hopefully she will see that . . . just keep loving her bigtime.

  May I ask both godrulz and witnessofjesus . . .

  Do you believe the Bible accounts of the origins of man (Adam & Eve) . . . and the worldwide flood, to be accurate historical fact or allegorical. A simple straight forward answer one way or the other would be helpful

  he was loved and admired by many in the vancouver area (and beyond).

  Spot on with the seismic reference CoCo . . . living in CHCH New Zealand . . . we've had 2 major Quakes here in the last 9 months with about 7000 aftershocks . . . different kind of rock n' roll. Not all on JWN pick the reference though . . . I'm regularly referred to as Sizemilk or Sizemike LOL

  Earth Science was the focus of my tertiary studies 35 years ago and remains a keen interest . . . so the current circumstances are fascinating to me.

  While perusing the board this morning we had a good shake . . . rolled for about 30 secs . . . almost rocked me back to sleep.

  Took a scientific approach to things after my 25 year ride on the crazy train . . . hasn't made me an atheist (too absolute) . . . it simply taught me to be generous in allowing for the unknown.

  If God's around somewhere . . . I don't expect to be punished for what I don't know . . . or making the wrong "guess"

  If he cannot be revealed by using the analytical brain he gave us . . . then that's not our fault IMO.

  Life's like a good SF mystery . . . why read the last chapter first and spoil the story?

  New parallels are great things to find . . . love the philosophy of A Einstein

  Now I'm rambling about endless ponderings . . .
