i mean, it's so utterly ****ed up, it's unbelievable.. just think about the nitty gritty of it:.

people that they love & care for who don't share their religion deserve to be killed, left without a grave & eaten by wild animals.

one day, this will happen & they'll be surrounded by billion upon billion of decaying, rotting corpses.

i had to take a break from jwn here because after all the drama that unfolded over a certain new anti-wt organization i had to back off because i had unbearable emotions and "flashbacks" to being a jw and being bullied.

even though i didn't experience any direct bullying, seeing it happen caused all the negative emotions to come back because i felt like i was back at the kingdom hall.

so i just left for awhile.. i've been having to do a lot of soul searching lately and reevaluating my life.

You are very brave Gojira. Hopefully this bold move will make some witnesses who know you wake up a little to the borg.

For most of us faders I think they reassure themselves that we were just weak and led away by the temptations of the world and not that we found serius porblems with the teachings.

I am as proud of you as one anonymous person on the internet can be of another.

Unbelievable. Yet no one in the cult will see the similarity to what they do daily to many who are not even disfellowshipped.

I went to a wedding after being inactive for about 2 years. Someone came up to me all smilely and asked if I was still going to meetings. When I said I was inactive the smile immediately fell off his face and he turned and walked away without another word. Talk about a silent treatment.

Many ex-JWs have never read Combating Cult Mind Control

the general public knows far too little about cults and mind control...and this is reflective of many ex-jws as well.

when i meet up with former jws, either in person or on the phone, im surprised that the majority have never read combating cult mind control.

of course, i am sure many former jws do not want to read yet another publication.

Good point Londo. I have been meaning to read it but the few times I checked in stores it was sold out. I have just ordered it from Amazon though. From the reviews I have read I think it will help me deal with family and help me teach my children to watch out for cult teachings.

Tech49 on HOURS, TIME, and REPORTS

i thought i would share some of my observations on counting field service time, reports, etc.

and how those reports are viewed, to those that are still so fixated on numbers.. i served as secretary on the service committee for many years, and have seen it all!.

i was really disheartened when wt changed the requirement for aux pioneering to allow for 30 hrs, instead of the 50 it has been for so long.

Am I the only one that didn't inflate their timesheet? If I had known so many were doing it, I could have saved myself alot of heartache worrying about getting my hours.

Don't Call me Shirley, It is amazing that they would try that. As I understand it there was no J or V in Hebrew, let alone vowels. I wonder if when I was in a blatant lie like that would have registered with me. Probably not. But it was learning the origin of the name Jehovah that finally removed all doubt for me about the WT.

Bromac and Shirley. I see both your arguments although I didn't understand yours at first Bromac. I think you are saying it is understandable (although with the mis-translation of YHWH not grammatically correct) that someone could use a name in the OT because there was only one instance of a God or higher power but the error gets greatly compounded because they then use that name in the NT to change the readers' understanding of who the scripture is applying to, YHWH or Jesus.

If I have that correct I think it is a good point that I never thought of before. It does show why the WT is so adamant about using a personal name for God. It allows them to change the meanings of what is written in the NT in a very subtle yet profound way.

Not even eating with such a man?

not even eating with such a man?.

today i added a new article to my blog taking a closer look at watchtowers doctrinal position that jehovahs witnesses should not even eat a meal with disfellowshipped individuals.

as it turns out watchtower holds families among jehovahs witnesses to one standard and holds itself to a wholly different standard.

I never would have thought of that. I don't remember if Ray Franz mentioned it in Crises of Conscience. Do you think he went to the memorial after being disfellowshipped for eating with someone who was disfellowshipped and partook causing the entire congregation to be in the same stuation they df'd him for?
