9new video release ,moses WTS comparision,.... and a bit of a rant
by lurk inim not sure what its called..but the newest video release really did it for me.. its about moses and those who rebeled and how they were destroyed.
its was not as subtle as others before that ive seen .they make no bones about it ,your not left to come to conclutions, the discussion bit at the end makes it quite clear that in dealing with wts your dealing with the eqivalent of moses and shows a lovely destruction sequence of how your gonna die if you ever question the wts authority in any way .. which is amazing since moses never once made a prophecy or promise without it happening he made prophecys that all came true ....showed amazing power via god ...had visions of god and met god himself on a mountain (glowy face etc).most imporatantly god didnt do these thinsg in secret he did them infrount of the isrealites so they had proof for themselves the moses was right.
wts failed prophecys , no visions ,no word form god,everything invisible not seen so no one a can see proof the wts is right .

by petespal2002 inthe ultimate taboo of being a jw is the unforgivable sin, a direct action of going against the leadings of the holy spirit.
did this used to bother you, and do you think you are seen by jw's as having committed it?
for instance, is apostasy the only occurance of it, or in you opinion would it include adultery etc.

by JT inyes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.
i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.
as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?

giving people proof of who his workers are doesnt seem to be a problem for jehovah at all.
all through the bible even with jesus he gave proof to people that this person is indeed who he says he is hes no another nutcase ...... yet somehow the WTS is above proofi failed to see the comparision between the 2 at alll.

things that make you go AGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!!
by lurk inkingdom melodies did it for me everytime.. i tired so hard not to have uncharitable thoughts about the ppl who wrote the tunes and words to the kingdom melodies.
there were about 2 that i could stomach.. the rest were so totally uninspiring and mechanical.. .i can say that apart from maybe 2 i didnt get any up lifting joy from them.. elders complained that ppl wern't learning the tunes and singing properly.they got realy irritated over it .but i really really hate the dam songs .
eveyone sounded totally joyless

Am I going insane?
by ballistic inas some of you know, my main form of transport is a motorbike, and having just got a new one, i'm really enjoying it.
however, i find that in my local supermarket i have no advantage as to speed and maneuverability.
all the trolleys are the same.

"our faith will be evident from the conviction with which we tell others about this magnificent gift from god.".
it seems to me that a better thought would be, "our faith will be evident from the way we live our life and the way we treat our fellow man.".

filling in the time, sheets counting up the hours .what away to declare your faith
felt like being at school again .
did you ever tell any non JW that you filled in a time sheet evrry time you spoke to them ?.
i kept mine hidden. i was to embarresed to tell ppl .that when ever i mentioned jehovah to them i scribbled down 10 minutes on my time sheet. i began to see ppl as minutes on a time sheet.was like trying to score points with god.
but then doing good deeds became to be like a propaganda exercise. i knew i was only encouraged to do them by WT articles so i could mention jehovah or helping someone out had to be with the purpose of witnessing so they would join the society .in the end i felt like i was being dishonest about the reason i was helping..
now i do somthing cause i feel moved to help :) not because ive got an alterior motive
