lol, @ heathen. Oh there is no denying that. I do feel bad for those that are still halfway sane and want out who still have to deal with all of it, especially when it's someone really close to home, like a husband, child, wife, mother, father...

Jehovah's Witnesses and The "Mentally Diseased" - Is it projection?
by fade_away inif this is not the epitome of irony, i dont know what is:.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urbxtvuat1g&feature=related.
they call those who simply don't agree with their totalitarian dogma "mentally diseased" when there is documented evidence that points out that they are simply projecting their own issues on a group of others they deem "undesirables".

Being a born-in, I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness and was in for twenty-three years. Watching this brief little snippet sheds a whole lot light on my experiences and interactions with people in the organization. In fact, we had many members in our congregation who were on medication for a variety mental illnesses ranging from mild depression to paranoid schizophrenia. Since mental illness still carried some stigma in our congregation, I imagine some people were also not so open (or maybe tried not to be as obviously insane) as others. I know my mother had serious neurotic tendencies and exhibited patterns of narcisism that to this day remain untreated.
I remember there was this brother who had paranoid shizophrenia and you could always tell when he had forgotten to take his medication because sometimes he would try to grab at things in front of him that weren't there or he would talk to someone imagined; all this would occur in the middle of the meeting that was taking place or sometimes even in field service! one of his antics would be telling the householder that he was Jesus and they would have listen to what he had to say in order to live in paradise. And, no, I am not kidding! He was the cause of many an embarassing moment for those who were stuck with him at service. What made it worse was that he was never given the title of pioneer but it wasn't for a lack of enthusiasm. Since he couldn't work he would constantly be out on service and he was militant, to say the least, in his efforts.
Any of you have similar experiences?

Purgatory and JWN
by wha happened? inwell hello everyone.. after some thought, i realized that i've created a middle world for myself, that is neither jw, nor included in the other 99% of the population.
in fact, living here in jwn is like a cong sometimes.
the rumours, the gossip, the clicks, it's all here, if that's what u want.. what's happened to me is that i'm almost in a jw state of mind with the small group mentality.

New Experience Of The Carjacker & The Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inmy mom told me this as it was related to her.. a witness is suddenly carjacked!
the man tells the sister he is there to steal her car!
she begs him not to take the car as it is the one she uses to take her elderly mom to the doctors.

I had a similar experience.... I was walking from school once when a Jehovah's Witness man snuck up behind me and said "Join us or die at Armageddon!" What could I do? I was being held at Bible point! He put a WT magazine in my hand and asked me if I deny the WTBTS as being God's sole channel and mouth piece. I said "yes and here's why..." Then I pulled out a copy of Ray Franz's Crisis of Conscience and held it in his face in a religious Mexican stand-off. Bible/WT mag vs. CoC. As soon as he saw the author's name, he screamed like a vampire exposed to light and he melted into a puddle of bubbling acid. Thank Ray I had a copy of CoC with me. His spirit must have been with me that day!

You can twist the Bible to mean what you want it too. Like that joke that says Jesus drove a Honda but didn't like to talk about it cause in John 12:49 Jesus says "For I did not speak of my own accord".....
JWs do something similar to "prove" there were conventions and door to door service thousands of years ago.

It was supposed to release last year. Here is a link to the site... http://www.hereliesthetruth.com/
Check out the excerpts on the main page. Very interesting experiences.

Well, this is a parody website that even mentions a fictitious upcoming movie called
“Sparlock the Warrior Wizard and The Battle for the Witch Tower”.
It even shows fake movie tickets like this one:
So as for the Simpsons rumor... I'll believe it when I see it on Thanksgiving.....somehow, I'm skeptical of the Simpsons making that many references to the Jehovah's Witnesses. Usually they'll do one or two every now and then, but an entire episode full of JW parody even featuring Steven Hassan and Steven Unthank sounds way too far fetched. Unless they hired a writing team of ex-JWs. The cult just isn't popular enough to get that much attention.

Spahrlokk The Magic Making Soldier Guy
by DT indo you think there is any chance we could get a chinese (or other asian) company to make a cheap knock off of sparlock the warrior wizard?
they probably either know how to avoid copyright problems or don't care much about irritating an american cult..

You know, the mom in this video looks an awful lot like Elastic Girl from The Incredibles. Disney/Pixar should sue the WT for that.
