meaning is an essential part of human psychology, though some feel the need for it less than others, and even a few seemingly don't at all.
there also seems to be a trend that occurs: in the lack of a meaning of life, the brain tries to find one, because it sees a purpose for everything.. .

That's stupid, and an old argument. It makes the theist look worst than the atheist, because it implies that the only thing preventing the theist from murdering and raping is belief in god, and that if their sky daddy looked away for a few minutes they would pillage the world freely. I am an atheist, and I don't steal and murder and cheat. Which means your question is in itself incorrect. The question isn't "why shouldn't I kill and steal and cheat?" The question is "Why aren't they killing stealing and cheating?". Prisons don't have an oddly out of balance number of atheists per capita (it's actually skewed the other way, with a far smaller population of atheists in prison than in the general population.) It's not instinct that makes us moral, nor is it deities, I guess myself and millions of others must be a living conundrum. Or it's a question that's been answered a thousand times if you actual read anything written by atheists, or even various existential philosophers of the 20th century,"Mr. I have a fictional PhD."
Which you never did answer me on. Where did you get your PhD, who was your professor, what is your PhD in, and what was your thesis on, and what was its title? Also, why do you claim to be a bearded finnish man now? Why not just admit you're full of shit, nobody here is going to give you the respect or validation you so desperately crave, and begin actually helping yourself over whatever it is that is wrong with you that makes you a pathological liar on a website for ex-witnesses? Apparently we are supposed to believe these are the same people. And they have a PhD, and are a world famous spiritual mentor and guru, also an elder and a secret apostate that travels the world and arranges apostate conventions and lives on the MOON. -

Eurozone crisis- the jw's are crowing about it like mad!
by highdose inover the past few weeks i've been told that the eurozone will go into melt down and that this will be the start of armargeddon because the goverments will then turn on religon to get their money instead.. i have been told that the greek pm almost rejecting the greek bailout plan would lead to armargeddon.
of course much to the jw's disapointment the greek pm resigned and the greeks did accept the bail out.
thus saving the greek banks from collapse and thus the rest of the european banks.. i have been told that italys debt will mean they will plunder the vatican for its wealth!

My mom and dad told me that I'm an apostate and that they want to 'limit their association' with me!!!

my mom and dad told me that they found my videos that i was doing on youtube, and they told me that i was an apostate.
they said that they would help me if it was an emergency, but other then that, they didnt want anything to do with me.

Oh, yeah. Sorry that was insensitive of my joliette. I understand your pain, I haven't talked to my parents in years. Of course it's a bit different, since I didn't like them very much to begin with. But the anger and disapointment that comes from having your own parents choose a cult over you is one that I can relate to. It's an insane thing they do to their members.

yes, sonny afro, it is farfetched. Criticism of modern times stems from ignorance of history. The past always looks better than the present no matter how terrible the past was. You must still have the witness fear instilled in you. When I look at the future, I see challenges, but also something too bright to imagine. The darkness you see is the fear the WT put into you.

By visiting this site I am actually compelled to believe that per capita more ex-witnesses and witnesses are inclined to believe such conspiracy theories than the general public. I don't have hard scientific statistics to back this up, so much as the feeling that I see way more talk and topics on this here than I do on any other message board. My hypothesis would be that since witnesses are trained to think that the world is rotten and there is an invisible spirit conspiracy secretly controlling the world behind the scenes they are more likely to accept such inanity as illuminati and the like. Some Ex-witnesses while realizing that the religious aspect of the organization is wrong, still retain the mindset they had while still inside. Namely that the world is rotten, and there are powerful secret forces pulling the strings.But sense the Society is so obviously wrong on factual grounds, they need to replace one end of the world doomsday scenario with another.
Enter chemtrails, world governments, conpiracy plots and the like. That way they get to keep the feeling of "being in the truth" that feeling of exclusive knowledge and understanding in a world blinded to the true plot, but with none of that nastly falsifiable bible mumbo jumbo, just pure assertion and vague disparate chords tied together into one of a million fanciful tales that suit the personal psychology and politics of the individual. Who's taking over the world? Is it the aliens, the homosexual liberals, the communists, the government, big business, the banks, the oil companies? Depending on the person, it's most likely some combination of those. No two conspiracy theorists can agree, they only agree on some monikers such as bilderburg group, or illuminati that act as catch all umbrellas for whatever sinister amalgamation of evils is out to destroy goodness. Sounds an awful lot like something...something I can't put my finger on....oh, yeah. A religion.
