There is a difference between innocent and not guilty. Jurors aren't moral arbiters, they are there to decide whether any laws were broken. I don't think Zimmerman is an "innocent" man per say, but based on the laws of the land and the evidence available, I think the jurors did what they were mandated to do. As some one mentioned earlier (I think it was here on this thread, might be wrong), justice is a process not an outcome.

That article did make me laugh. "Try moving a 200 ton locomotive engine! It can't be done!" Give me ten thousand slaves and I'll move it where ever you want. It really underestimates how much force thousands of people can generate if they are organized and using simple physics. That article is just a bunch of hand waving and casting doubt in hopes that you'll agree without actually doing any research. I like the last bit about "You must be living in a fantasy land" if you think the manpower of tens of thousands of slaves could do it over many decades.

This is a great question and one I have asked without any reply.
If Jehovah is a God of love and wanted his name to be sanctified, why not give his people a cultural victory over all other nations rather than a series of brutal and violent military victories? Rather than deliver their enemies to them by having them slaughter every living thing in neighboring cities, how about teach them trigonometry, calculus, economics, medicine, linguistics, theories in art and music, architecture, government? Why not make it so Israel was so far advanced that surrounding nations saw them as a shining beacon of advanced civilization? The US for many decades had people from all over the world trying to get into the country because it was overflowing with riches, intellectual, artistic, and monetary. And that is with all of it's flaws. A perfect god couldn't do better than that?

Your syllogism is flawed, and it shows both prejudice as well as cultural conditioning. It is incorrect to assume a human being wants nothing more than to satisfy ever base fleshly desire. Also this argument runs into the problem that it asserts that the one making the accusation would love to rape and steal but doesn't because of god. It can be most easily dismantled by asking "NightOwl, do you want to rape other people? Would you go and rape somebody if you didn't believe in god? I don't believe in god and I'm not raping anyone, so you need to seek clinical help if you want to rape somebody but don't out of fear/love of some invisible father figure."
I am an athiest and yet I do not rob, steal, rape, connive, gorge on food and wine, ect. Why? I assure you it is not because I "secretly" think there is a god. The answer (and this may be mind blowing to certain religious people) is that I want something other than sex and food.
It is a distinct branch of religious philosophy (largely from the abrahamic faiths) that man wants nothing more than hedonistic self satisfaction and that god is the only thing restraining him. This assumption is incorrect. The realistic view of humans is that there is a complex hierachy of desires instilled and created by a combination of societal, cultural and biological factors. Sure I want sex, I also do not want to cause harm to another human being, I do not want to be ostracized by society, I don't want to have my freedom removed. If having sex requires me to harm another person (rape), be seen as a sex offender and go to prison, then those other desires trump the desire for sex. Personally I want to see my community thrive, my friends be happy, and humanity flourish. I do like food, sex, and other "hedonistic" pleasures, but in a hierachy of desires they fall far below my other desires.
So yeah, you know what? I do exactly what I want, and I don't answer to anyone. Luckily for all of you, society has raised me to want more than narcisstic self satisfaction. Art, literature, philosophy, science, they have all taught me that there is far more to life than fucking til I'm dead. Maybe you don't see that, and you just want to die a millionaire rapist and god is the only thing stopping you, but I want more for both myself, society and humanity.

The ID crowd lives in the same bubble the witnesses do, constantly being told that evolution is dying, it's been proven false, scientists are rising up against it, nobody can agree on it, it is a sinking ship, ect ect. Yet they never do actual research, publish any articles, find any ways to even begin verifying their counter "hypothesis" and instead spend all their time telling each other what a great success they've been, and occasionally writing a "pop science" book, and each time claiming that it is earth shattering and has put the final nail in darwin's coffin. They trudge up the same handful of people with PhDs to comment on how ground breaking this latest book is, even though it is yet another rehash of information that can largely be found in the "life how did it get here, by evolution or creation" book with a new coat of paint. Meanwhile evolutionary biologists publish actual scientific articles and findings by the thousands not even in the least bit affected by the exceedingly small "ID" group. They have been touting the end of "Darwinism" for decades, and just like armaggedon it never shows up.
Evolutionary Biologists spend millions doing actual research, the Discovery Institute spends millions on PR campaigns, never actually researching anything.

The thing is there never will be a "cure" for cancer. Cancer isn't a thing, it is a classification of a whole lot of things. It is like saying why haven't we found a cure for virus yet? Cancer is when your cells screw up the reproduction process, and start reproducing cells that don't do what they are supposed to do. There are millions of reasons this can happen, there are millions of places in the gene it can happen, there are a ridiculous number of types of cells it can happen to. There isn't just one quick fix solution that will always reliably tell one type of cell "don't reproduce" while telling every other cell "go ahead and reproduce" anywhere and everywhere in the body, while making sure that no genetic mistake is ever made again.
Anybody that says they have a "cure for cancer" is selling snake oil and might as well be saying they have found a way to stop aging, or cure all disease. They feed off of distrust of "big pharma" and there biggest allies are the anti-science portion of the liberal side of things. Anybody that thinks that the conservative right has a monopoly on anti-science wingnuts just needs to look at the anti-vaxxer, natural healing, "big pharma is killing us on purpose" demographic of the left.
There is no "cure" for cancer. The statement doesn't even make sense.

My latest university experience...

i'm finishing the junior year of my engineering degree and the classes are hard as hell.
i used to be among the smartest students in the room until i hit the 300 level university courses.

I understand the feeling. I am just finishing up my sophmore year of electrical engineering. Freshman year I got straight As, though "pff, this is easy. I can't imagine getting less than an A." Now towards the end of Calc two and my calculus based physics classes, I will be satisfied with a B and astounded if I pull out an A. I would be dissapointed, but ok with a C in my calculus 2 class. I can imagine that it will only get worse as it goes on.
As hard as it is I am loving it though.

And what happens in "around the beginning" of May? Powerful signs must be specific to be of any use.
