Sitting Still at Meetings has Become an Impossibility
by venusinfauxfurs insince i know the truth about jw, and still have to go to meetings for family reasons (and because i don't want to leave my friends, either) i get so sick in my chair in the hall.
i can't pay attention, i can't sit still knowing it's all such a waste of time and a big fat lie.
i get weird symptoms like: the feeling that i'm going to almost pass out, very sweaty or very cold, and weak legs though i'm sitting down, and the urge to get up and run away.

I was in the KH yesterday for my sister-in-laws funeral service. It took everything in me not to run out half way through. Shaking, cold sweaty palms, heart racing. Luckily I had not been in a KH in a very long time and will never step foot in one again...born and raised fader, should have taken the Xanax. I wish you luck and totally agree with No Apologies.

When Did You Stop Saying Amen
by BroMac infor prayers from the platform.. i've "said my own" for a few years now if i find i cant agree with what the brother is praying about.
i'm constantly amazed by the same old repetitive ramblings and just nonsense that some brothers feel is an acceptable way to pray for a congregation.. once i've finished saying my own i'll listen again to what they are going on about, and round and round they go.
the worse ones are those who can hardly speak english and i cant understand a word thats said apart from the "...feffull slive... bless bruders sis not here..." blah blah.. and everyone has gone through the public talk prayer.

Yesterday at my sister-in-law's memorial service (or whatever the hell they call it). It was my first time in a Kingdom Hall in at least 16-18 years. The man who gave the closing prayer actually began by pointing out how people were putting grave stones and skulls in their yards and celebrating death today but today we were celebrating life (it was halloween). Yeah right. While you speak of this wicked system of things and armageddon and how, while not spoken but you know what they are thinking, you unbelievers in the audience will soon die and we will be cleaning up your remains after the glorious fury of god kills you all. Really, the closing prayer starts with a jab at people celebrating haloween? It wasn't a celebration of life. It was a disgusting 2 min. honoring my 38 year old sister in law and 30 min. of doctrinal bullshit. I think witnesses celebrate the anticipated death of people with a sick sort of blood lust. But halloween is sooooo evil. Anyway there was no Amen and I bolted out of that Kingdom Hall and will never set foot in one again.

Woops. Still getting the hang of things. Crap! It's too hard to explain. But something has come full circle. I really do think she's setting me up. Trying to decide to be civil or just let it fly. I wish I could tell my story like others. I'm so tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Show me the way to go home
I'm tired and I want to go to bed
I had a little drink about an hour ago
And it went right to my head
Where ever I may roam
... On land or sea or foam
You will always hear me singing this song
Show me the way to go home -

Persecution Wanes/Banning Blood Garners Publicity
by compound complex insheer madness --- perpetuated by two madmen who prevailed over the judge [almost].
"after the judge's death, as world war ii was ending and persecution against the witnesses began declining, along with the attendant drop in news-media publicity, hayden c. covington told the author [of the four presidents] that fred franz saw the prohibition against blood transfusions as a way to accomplish two things: to continue to publicize the religion, and to create an uproar in the community.
this reaction would convince the membership they were being "persecuted" and "suffering for righteousness sake," a sure sign they were "in the truth.".

DEAR RICH FOLKS: Get Ready For A (Tax) Revolution...
by darthfader ininteresting point of view and graphs.
is the us different today than it was in the 50's and 60's when tax rates were at their highest?
a lot of people agree that raising taxes pulls money out of the economy and will hinder job creation.

I logged in just for you darthfader. They say increasing taxes will hurt job growth. Well, we didn't let the Bush tax cuts expire and now unemployment numbers/jobs growth are just getting worse. Doesn't that show that tax cuts and jobs really aren't related? Why don't we hold these people accountable? You want tax cuts? Show us the jobs. If you don't, then you lose your tax cuts. Is that so hard? I feel a rant coming on. Have a good night.
