Hello Silentlambs,
I did forget to thanks you for the
interesting quotes, few more for the archives.

in the 2-15-02 body of elders letter a paragraph is dedicated to child abuse issues.
many have claimed this an adjustment for the better with regard to wt policy.
sadly this could not be further from the truth.

Hello Silentlambs,
thanks for the tremendous effort and time you
are giving to this issue. Excellent points from the BOE
letters. The " Society" is trying to undo some of the damage,
adding to the hypocrisy..now is quite too late considering
the great number of victims, and the wider publicity this issue
it's getting. Thanks you very much for keeping all us informed
and helping to " unveil " such terrible and shocking attitude from
the WTBS.
The great pubblicity given to similar issue with "other religions"
and the astronomic "compensations" fees demandes for such cases
are making the WTBS running for cover..!
Btw, do not worry about comment like that one from " silentcrap".
The name itself it is a programm in itself.
Near to you in spirit, greetings

quoted below is the testimony of an ex-jw (one of the posters here) who faced the draft in the '60s.
notice the form of "alternative service" that he would've been required to do had he been drafted.
not civilian, but as one who would work in a military hospital ... which would be aiding the war effort -- a breach of one's neutrality.. .
Hello Yadirf,
I'm sorry if I did upset you, with my
quotes. Btw why do you phrase yourself in such unchristian
way...just to argue, discuss or explain your viwpoint?
ex. "Of course you've never had the balls to shoulder the responsibilities that the Governing Body has accepted with pleasure, so nobody should expect you to really understand. I've seen you make a fool out of yourself so many times on this board that it's pathetic."
No amount of verbal abuse, or similar kind of things will be
a substitute for the " truth " of the word of God.
Greetings, J.C.MacHislopp
here are a few pics from this book.
it basically tells why jesus returned and what to expect.
the preface sums it up.
Hello apostate man,
thanks for an excellent job. Please do scan for us here the
book " Enemies"...as I do not have access to any copies of it.
According to comments, it is considered the " strongest "
worded book, by the late J.F. Rutherford...very strong and
poisonous attacks on the Catholic Hierarchy in general.
Btw, I have seen the 1928 edition of the "Harp of God " and
can confirm the modification.
"Conclusive Proof that Millions Now Living Will Never Die"
has gone and only the words: " A text-book for Bible study...
and Scripture citations."
Then it is mentioned 3,960,000 edition
Copyrighted 1921 by the Peoples Pulpit Association
Brooklyn, N.Y., U.S.A.
Made in the U.S.A. 1928
The Preface , I do believe is with the same words.
I cannot finf in this edition the words: ""the Harmony of the Ten Primary Bible Teachings".
At the end of page 20 it is written: " The ten strings of the harp
therefore, very fitly represent the ten great fundamental truths or
doctrines of the divine plan."
It states :" 1) CREATION ....10) RESTORATION
Thanks for the clarifications,

must one get baptized (complete immersion) no matter how severe their handicap?.
(paragraph 2, sentence 3..."since baptism by complete immersion is a scriptural requirement, humans have no authority to exempt someone from baptism.".
my thoughts: what elder/co/do will dare take a risk in exempting one from baptism if they have been told by the society that no human has the authority to do this?
Hello Mister Biggs,
thanks for the post! You've taken quite a
good one. Just for the archives. Btw, I remember a
baptism of a severe handicapped " person", no problem
just few brothers and sister standing by ...just in case.
But I do like the poit about "liability " ...!
Surely the WTBS would as usual wriggle out of that, maybe
not so quickly today.

Hello everyone,
thanks for the many good points in the discussio.
Just for the record:
awake December 8th 1974 p. 22-25:
" ...therefore any work that is merely a substitute for military
service would be unacceptable to Jehovah's witnesses. "
and also:
" Civilian servitude as a substitute for military service would
be just as objectionable to the Christian..."
and very clearly:
" ...but because of their religious beliefs Jehovah's witnesses
in Sweden refused, not only military service, but also any
noncombatant work affered as a substitute ."
If someone has still doubt anout the WTBS policy - at the time-
then:
" Representatives of the branch office appeared before the committee
explaining that the Witnesses could not accept any substitute for
military service whatsoever, no matter how praiseworthy the task."
Then all ...changed and forgotten with the "new light .."
published in the - Watchtower 1/5/1995 pp. 18-20 -
" Paying Back Caesar's things to Caeser. Compulsory military
service".
Greetings, J.C. MacHislopp
yesterday an announcement was made at my local con.
and i thought i`d share it.. the watchtower announced that work on the new cd-rom is in progress and we can expect it at the end of this year.. unlike the other versions you can`t get away with win 3.1, you`ll now need at least win95.. available languages: the one already available + tjech and japanese.. some of it`s features:.
- one window (instead of several).
Hello,
thanks for the news. Europe is eagearly
waiting for it. But as it was commented on this
board...how many things will not be included or
even ...modified??
Greetings, J.C.MacHislopp
P.S. Thanks also for the technical details.
in the april 1, 2002 issue of the watchtower, an article appears entitled "keep on serving jehovah with a steadfast heart".
paragraph 14 of this article states: "if jehovah's organization knowingly endorsed false teachings, advice to read the bible would never be given to jehovah's witnesses and those to whom they preach.".
i am withholding comment on this statement, because i'd like to hear from any who would like to post a response.
Hello everyone,
excellent topic and very thought provoking.
Bodhisattva: here is the reference
" w. 1.04.1986 page 30 QfR "
and compare with " w. 1.07.2001 pages 18-21 "
which deals with doubts..."
As usual ...they crack...under strain!
Greetings, J.C.MacHislopp
do you think it's possible to fall in love with someone by reading their words of love to someone else?.
that seems to be the only explanation to a life-changing experience related in the april 1 issue of the watchtower.. the experience tells of a 102 year old woman from russia.
it says that "one evening in 1999, they read a scripture to (her) that touched her heart.
Hello Ozziepost,
thanks for this observing and ...logical
remark! I'm wondering also about the possible...solution.
All the best, J.C.MacHislopp
when caught red handed with 10 years of signed documents where your leaders swore to uphold and promote the interests of the very organization you have vilified as satan's instrument, you now say, "i don't see that as a sin.
because you were caught?
also, if the proof is only "supposed," then where's a solid rebuttal to that proof without the ad hominems and red herrings?.
Hello Farkel,
thanks for your logical and factual comments.
I've taken what I believe the "nails ":
1)"They have a bevy of lawyers that do nothing but read and re-read not only the literature they want to publish but virtually EVERY legal document before it is signed. And EVERY time they renewed that document, it basically said the same thing and said it clearly, as I have pointed out: they promised to uphold and promote the interests of the United Nations. Are you naive enough to think that THAT part of the agreement went unnoticed by WT legal?"
and for those still in doubt:
2) "Furthermore, since the UN was supposed to be so evil and Satan directed for decades, why were they so sloppy in signing a document they hadn't even "read" thoroughly. Sorry, Rick. It doesn't wash. They are hypocrites of the worst sort."
Great stuff, congratulations.
All the best to you personally, J.C.MacHislopp
