  Blue? Lonewolf?- Willing Letter-Ed Signatories?

  i believe that "lonewolf" and "ohhappyday" have both previously sent "letters to the editor" using their true identities (as is necessary to get such printed).. .

  are you two, and/or anyone else here willing to act as signatory and send one that i have authored?

  It is my understanding that most newspapers give real consideration only to people living in their circulation areas, thus it would probably only be worth your time to send such to in-state or national circ newspapers.

  I find it absolutely amazing how many of the posters here gripe, complain, and threaten the WTS, BUT given a chance to actually do something, they are not heard from. However, go over to some "fluff" thread and there they are runnin their mouths as usual.

  I'm quickly finding that JWcom is a waste of my time. I have been fighting the WTS, on my own, quiety behind the scenes, for some time now.

  Currently, I have 3 different scandals I've been working on but have not mentioned here, and I don't plan on doing so. This place is a waste of good time and effort.

  i am sending this letter via email to both my local hospital and to several doctors (different version) who have occasion to treat my immediate family.. i thought that i would post such on the db so that others here could also do the same.

  however, i would ask that you do not completely duplicate the letter, in the event that the same hospital or same doctor receive this more than once, and discard it as a hoax.

  please take the time to change some of the wording, and personalize it to your own circumstances.. i will post any received replies, and i ask that others please do the same.. *****************************************.

  Just like in some of the NGO threads, you are so busy running your mouth just to listen to yourself talk, that you wind up missing some of the simplest of issues.

  Your ramblings on about how much training/warnings hospitals provide regarding "confidentiality" is no different than the training/warnings that attorneys, CPAs, and others receive.

  THE POINT to be taken from the WATCHTOWER article quoted in my sample form letter is that the WTS teaches JWs that their obligation to rat-out fellow JWs SUPERCEDES any employment or professional obligations which they are otherwise trained to observe.

  Your hospital, or any others, can provide thousands of hours of "confidentiality" training

  BUTTTTTTTTTTTT

  IT DOESN'T MATTER TO A JW EMPLOYEE IF HE LEARNS SOMETHING BAD ABOUT A FELLOW JW. THE JW EMPLOYEE HAS A HIGHER OBLIGATION TO REPORT THEIR FELLOW JW TO THE ELDERS, EVEN IF IT MEANS THE EMPLOYEE MUST SUFFER CONSEQUENCES.

  That fact puts ALL EMPLOYERS of JWs at risk.

  Employers can do all the training they want, but NOTHING they can do or say can prevent a JW employee from breaking confidentiality given the right set of circumstances. A JW employee is a "ticking timebomb" just waiting to go off.

  You amaze me how you can rattle on endlessly in this and other threads and have no clue of the basic issue.

  this city of columbia sc webpage shows that ccofjws requested, but was denied, allocation of local tax dollars from the city's accommodation tax budget allocation.. .

  any locals here that can check out the person that actually formalized this request, and how did ccofjws say they were going to use the $$$ to promote columbia?

  I have a "general" answer on all of the above, which basicly indicates that all my suspicions were correct.

  The WTS has been "working" the city of Columbia SC, and its tourism related agencies, for every $$$ they can get from them in exchange for holding DAs in Columbia.

  However, in the WTS's overzealousness to get their hands on every possible last penny, they even stooped to applying for an allocation from the local accommodation tax revenue fund, which is intended only for organizations which promote tourism in the Columbia area. They were denied $$$ from this fund, but were kept happy by a grant from the local Convention and Visitors Bureau.

  I wonder where the CVB gets its money, and if the providers are aware that they are subsidizing the Watchtower Society?

  Thanks for correcting me. Not to detract from your efforts in Europe, but I confused you wit "BlueSaphire" who succeeded in getting a LTE published in California.

  However, anyone who also thinks that the LTE posted above will work with Newspapers in their country just has to research and change the "statistics".

  I hope this helps your efforts.

  Thanks Scully for resurrecting this thread which I had completely forgotten about.

  If you took the time to read through it, you should have been amazed that the "xjw power clique" tried and succeeded in killing my idea to moivate others here to send out the form letter I initially posted. They don't like me because I refuse to smoooze up to them.

  Anyway, I sent out either 3 or 4 of these letters to local doctors/hospitals, and I actually received a reply from a Hospital and a Doctor.

  I didn't post those replies because by the time I received them, the "Powers" had already killed this thread.

  How about this LETTER TO THE EDITOR? It is short, sweet, and contains lots of factual info. It serves not only to inform the general public, but also serves to stir up the newspaper itself to possibly investigate the issues which we have thus far failed to adequately publicize.

  Isn't this the real purpose of Letters To The Editor?

  Maybe our earlier failed attempts were "walking before crawling"?

  Why does (_this newspaper_), along with practically all American Press, give a "free ride" to the Jehovah's Witnesses cult? If it is because your editorial staff thinks that Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs) are statistically insignificant in American society, they are wrong!

  While JWs number only approximately 1,000,000 out of the United States's 286,000,000 population, closer inspection would reveal that JWs have a much larger societal impact than indicated by its small membership numbers.

  It is significant that these 1,000,000 JWs are dispersed into 12,000 congregations located in nearly all of the 3134 counties in the U.S. It is even more significant that every single JW is required to perform public proselytizing activities, such as going door-to-door in your neighborhood. It is a fact that American JWs spend approximately 175,000,000 hours annually in public proselytizing activities, which averages out to approximately 15 hours per month for each of those 1,000,000 JWs.

  What other American organization, religious or otherwise, can boast of 1,000,000 active recruiters?

  These facts should give the American Press pause to consider whether the activities of JWs deserve greater scrutiny than they have received historically.

  What JW topics are newsworthy?

  Here is a sampling of current JW hot topics:

  1. Organizational procedures dealing with child molestation are alleged to have effectively shielded child molestors among JWs, thus allowing molestors to repeat their crimes against children year after year. (Refer to: www.SilentLambs.org)

  2. In October, the JW parent organization, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (WBTS), resigned its "associative status" as a United Nations NGO Partner (granted in 1992), after the UN initiated an internal investigation because it learned that JW theology teaches that the UN is the "scarlet-colored Beast" of "Revelation" that eventually battles with God's heavenly organization, which is represented here on earth by the JWs.   3. The organization's changing medical treatment policies have resulted in hundreds of needless deaths here in the U.S. (Refer to: www.ajwrb.org)

  It is time that (_this newspaper_), and all of the American Press, provided the general public with sufficient information to develop an informed opinion regarding this nationwide organization that, while knocking doors in every American neighborhood for decades, has for too long managed to "fly under the Press's radar".

  You and I have a common goal with regard to the WTS.

  However, as we both know, I am as adamantly opposed to one of your "tools" as you are adamantly in favor of such.

  Frankly, I always read all your posts, since you do come up with some good links, in additon to those I consider to be detrimental to our common goal.

  With respect to your jokingly posed offer, I would have no problem working with you (or anyone else for that matter), so long as you (or others) are capable of intelligently communicating the basics of the posed issues to a reporter who would want to verify your identity.

  I do not seem to recall any posts by you which demonstrate your understanding of the NGO issue.

  If you are willing to turn your joking offer into a serious one, and are willing to answer a few questions, then let's communicate pivately via email.

  Frankly, I value someone like yourself that is an active fighter more than all these other people here who prefer to constantly discuss "fluff" that is not much different from what is discussed over at WOL and GC, or the people here that refuse to do anything that might upset their social contacts on the board.
