  i was born whilst my parents were on a jw missionary assignment.

  unofficially i am only a year old!

  lol this will be the first time my family and i have ever celebrated.

  After 70 years of sacred service........

  for a privileged few, you get an article with your lifes story published in the wt.

  most at least receive a grand send off with a kh memorial service.. my father passed away a couple of weeks ago.

  he was just shy of his 89th birthday.

  Hospitality........Texas style

  the highlight of a recent business trip to texas - austin, dallas and houston was to finally meet in person - xena and tim, and andi and neil.

  what great, lovely people!

  thanks for making my wife and i so welcome and "at home".. we have all been through a lot - posted, chatted, emailed - but visiting in person is the best.. we have also made some wonderful friends locally too - mulan and her husband in particular.

  i believe it was alanf who started this thread back in june regarding the evolution of baptism vows.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=6490&site=3#75845.

  also, isocf (ray franz) on pgs 117-120 discusses this also - detailing the right of the borg to disfellowship its members.. from alan's post it appears that if you were a minor and baptized before 1985, you could legally state that you did not vow loyalty to the organization, and could rightly reject a jc's attempts to disassociate or disfellowship you.

  is this correct?.

  Way O/T - Steve Allen's Meeting of Minds

  does anyone remember seeing steve allens pbs series - meeting of minds?

  he brought in actors to play various characters from history all sitting down together to discuss a topic.

  people like martin luther, voltaire, marie antonette etc.

  following the rules of a corrupt belief system?.
