I met the man who is now my husband on the internet in 1999. I also have some good friends I have talked to for years on a message board. Then, I recently met some great moms to hang out with on meetup.com.
It is tons easier for me to get to know someone on the computer and start talking to them than in person. -

Debased Lyrics
by diamondblue1974 inyes i know its a music thread and it might get posted elsewhere....but what are your favourite lyrics from the jw proverbial list of banned music...one of mine personally is the following:-.
these are the days of the beggars and the choosers.
this is the year of the hungry man.

I heard this one today on the radio for the first time in years. My mom told me it was a song sung by the devil. lol
Danzig: Mother
Mother
Tell your children not to walk my way
Tell your children not to hear my words
What they mean
What they say
Mother
Mother
Can you keep them in the dark for life
Can you hide them from the waiting world
Oh mother
Father
Gonna take your daughter out tonight
Gonna show her my world
Oh father
Not about to see your light
But if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's like
Till you're bleeding
Not about to see your light
And if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's
Mother
Tell your children NOT to hold my hand
Tell your children not to understand
Oh mother
Father
Do you wanna bang heads with me
Do you wanna feel everything
Oh father
Not about to see your light
And if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's like
Till you're bleeding
Not about to see your light
And if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's
Yeah
Not about to see your light
But if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's like
Till you're bleeding
Not about to see your light
And if you wanna find hell with me
I can show you what it's like
Mother

who remembers their first day at school
by tijkmo ini remember mine...it was in the days when all pupils gathered daily for a service to start the day even though it was not a religious school...anyway my sister had started the same school the previous year and my parents had informed the school that she would not be attending the daily service..not a problem..except for some reason they assumed that because i was the same surname the school would make the connection that i wasnt to go into service...but they didnt and so i found myself right at the front of the hall on my first day not even 5 years old in my new blazer and short trousers with all the other pupils behind me knowing i shouldnt be there..so i started crying..and first my teacher came to see what was wrong but quickly got frustrated because i couldnt explain myself..so she smacked me for crying and kept smacking me to get me to stop crying and then got the headmistress to smack me to get me to stop crying until eventually time was up and they had to cancel the service.....result...still loved school though...tijkmo

I remember my mom didn't want to leave...she kept hanging around. Finally, I told her she could leave, and she burst into tears! She used to tell me how bored she was all day too when I was at school. I think that was the first time my mom had even left me anywhere. I never had a babysitter when I was little, not even family.

JW Mother Mourns Pope's Death
by homme perdu ini was surprised to discover how my mother felt about the passing of the pope.
she mentioned even though he is different (regarding religion) he is still human and death is always something painful.
i overheard her discussion with my grandfather and she said he did good things and jehovah can grant him resurrection.

My mom was complaining about how the news is all centered on his death and will be for the next few weeks.
I told her it's sad when anyone dies, and she didn't agree that applied to the Pope.
I'm glad your mom has common human decency and compassion. -

I met my husband on the computer before I met him in person. He was intelligent and caring in his emails.
I was coming off an abusive marriage, and he was the complete opposite of my ex. I really wasn't looking for a new husband...I just wanted a good friend. After we met and started dating, he proved to be interested in what I wanted to do instead of telling me what to do. Shortly after we met, I did something totally stupid with my car, and I needed him to come help me, but I was scared to call him...I didn't have anyone else who could help. After years of being yelled at (by my ex and my dad) for "messing up" all the time, I was surprised by his reaction. He didn't get upset, and he acted like it was no big deal.
Also, he was/is adorable, :) and he quickly built a good relationship with my kids. -

I've always seen the men go first. It's not a done deal until the woman says "I do."

If there is a global catastrophe how will JW structure survive?
by Qcmbr ini presume the jws believe that the 'times of trouble' will be 7 years or something like that - during that time what provisions have the jw organisation made to stay up and running?
seems to me that if communications fail the local congs will be pretty much stiffed without their weekly magazine study.
does the jw org teach any form of physical preparedness or is it every publisher for themselves?.

I always figured we would have met in huts or something like they do in other countries. I guess it would depend on the type of catastrophe. I think the responsibility would revert to the Book Study conductors to set things up with his group.
I remember being told this is the reason all dubs are strongly encouraged to go to the congregation in whose territory they live. I guess that would make it easier to walk to a new meeting place. -

Thanks CF, that is what I was trying to do. I should be in bed instead of trying to post.
I had a similar discussion with my mom about the dates at one time, and that was the article she sent me. I was just letting you see they have a "prepared" article to cover up their bad math and lies, so you could be prepared too.
