  When do Auxilliary CO's go out in field service?

  i moved into this new cong for over two years now.

  we have this younger couple that are part time co's.

  i know that they would be busy serving a cong when they are asked to do so, but that is not too often.

  The only way it can be done is with creative time keeping.

  I used to have a "friend" who regular pioneered without going out in service by using that method.

  I'm sure he's an elder by now.

  court rejects missionary lawsuit against netanya schools for voiding leasethe tel aviv magistrates court has rejected a claim by a missionary group, saying that the school they had been renting space in unlawfully voided their contract , and asking the court to instruct the school to pay nis 108,000 in compensation and mental anguish, as well as legal expenses.. it began when a missionary group, via a non-profit organization called "mitzpe l'yisrael", rented space at the raziel school in netanya to conduct daily afternoon activities.

  shortly after signing the rental agreement , the school authorities discovered that the group was, in reality, the notorious missionary sect of "jehovah's witnesses".

  Mental anguish, Seriously? They should be paying the courts for the help they are giving to keep JWs under the delusion that they are being persecuted.

  scarcity value is the economic factor that increases an items relative price based upon it's relatively low supply.. .

  toy makers and the apple corporation are masters at using this marketing tool.

  create artificial shortages of a toy before christmas or the latest ipad and consumers will physically fight over these products and pay what ever the asking price is just to get their hands on it.

  Who are those young JW SKINHEADS ?

  at the latest circuit assembly, i noticed that quite a few young male jws (or at least attending youths), say sixteen upward and mostly mixed race, are skin headed.

  apart from that, they are quite well dressed.

  that way, elders won't reprove them for their long hair ... looks like an obvious defying message to a rigid organization.

  It seems like one of those "fads" they would councel against. I remember I wasn't supposed to wear my hat backwards for who knows what reason.

  Is Kurtbethel's comment accurate?

  "It is a good way to cover up past drug use that would be screened by a hair sample."

  Either way it seems more worldly than a beard.

  there is a new jeep ad here in australia, probably all over the place.

  two women are reading their fortune cookies and one reads it is time for her to take control of her life.

  she says "glad i got a jeep' funny thing is the registration number for her car in the cut away shot is xjw - ***!

  Ever feel like you were faking it as a JW when you weren't?

  i guess this is cognitive dissonance calling loud and clear!.

  i remember being proud to be a jw yet at the same time i felt that i was just fooling myself.. i think this also applies to the stupid doctrines of the watchtower(r).......they made sense but at the same time they didn't.. i had secret self loathing for not being 'zealous(tm)' enough but on the other hand i didn't.. seems to me i had a separation of authentic persona from cult persona.. anyone else get this?.

  I don't know if it is the same thing but I was always trying to find the thing that was holding me back. I was always a little depressed and figured it was something I was doing wrong. Blamed the usual suspects, my Led Zeppelin albums, watching the Simpsons, having too much fun doing something non JW related. Funny how the "mature" members were quick confirm these beliefs by being judgmental whenever you had fun. Looking back I wonder if they were jealous.

  here in the netherlands (extreme liberal) i hear more and more jw children about having attended a birthday party.. it seems that the more liberal jw's here have no problem with it.. gorby.

  I’ve come to the conclusion that Dave Barry has correctly interpreted the scriptures that the JWs use to warn against celebrating Birthdays.

  What is the purpose of Field Service??

  the so used to say it was life saving work.i wasn't convinced.it was soul destroying in the area i lived.i didn't want to be so cynical as to think, it was just to gain converts, therefore more money but it certainly looks that way now..

  Faith without works is dead, but what is works without faith?

  If the JWs had real faith they wouldn't need to continually push themselves into FS, they would be at it constantly. There would be people that had to be told slow down in the service because they were ignoring other important things. If you knew there was a million dollars buried in your backyard you would be out there digging every day till you found it. Nobody could stop you.

  At best they think they are going to force fulfil God’s prophecy of the good news being preached to all the earth. They think by going door to door that they are fulfilling the prophecy. I can’t imagine it works that way. Do people generally know that they are actively fulfilling a prophecy or do they, or someone else figure it out after the fact? I’m not sure but I bet in most cases it is the latter.

  It would be like the Jews saying, the bible says that a man named Jesus would be killed in fulfilment of some prophecy so lets find a guy name him Jesus and then kill him.
