being a jw makes one feel special, no doubt.
when i found out ttatt i realized i'm not special at all.
i'm just one of the other 7 billion human beings who will live and die being nobody, the world will forget about them (and i'm not talking about relatives and friend), they didn't make anything special in their life, they didn't change the course of history, were not famous nor rich, didn't invent facebook, google or anything awesome, didn't have an article published in newscientist, had no imdb profil, not even a wiki page, didn't write a book etc.
Learning TTATT puts you way ahead not behind.
The only thing holding you back is your "that's not gonna happen" attitude.
If you have a "I know it's going to happen" attitude you will be on the look out for opportunties and many will come along.

I think they are trying to obfuscate things until the become so incomprehensible that nobody understands them. Everyone just assumes that the next guy must understand it but they have been trained not to ask so they just accept it.
If they are saying the anointed will pass away before the big A, I wonder if it is to curtail rogue partakers. Seems like that could backfire

i was raised with this belief, that we would never die and actually make it into the "new system".
mu faithful jw aunt still talked about my mother (her sister) and her walking together into the great tribulation--- and never die at all!
she spoke of that 2 days before she passed away.. i believe most witnesses expect to die and then get resurrected.
I think they stay because the society make them feel worthless, prevents them from learning to take care of themselves and then threaten to kick them out if they mess up. But don’t worry we will all be going to God's Disney Land real soon now!!!
They remind me of an abusive husband that traps his wife into staying with him by belittling her and not allowing her to have a job or go to school so she has no choice but to stay.

a lot of people believe in karma: what goes around comes around.. some months ago, while on another exjw site, karma was mentioned and i thought it a little odd, as they are atheist.
what do you think?
i mean isn't that what jesus their master want as a form of loveing your neighbor especially those that devote their life to them and their silly dream about being god's organization..
that wold be the right thing for them to do, admit they had no idea what they were talking about then use their billions to rehabilitate all the dubs affected by their craziness.

at the start of today'swatchtower study, i did a little mental exercise - every time the words 'god' or 'jehovah' appeared, i substituted them with the words, 'the organization'.. if you are going to a meeting today, try it, and see how very different (and truthful!

this is, of course, a recurrent topic that's made possible whenever a kingdom hall decides to march out on your neighborhood and street.. today it happened again in my neighborhood as a drum up for the memorial observance scheduled for monday the 14th of april.. why christ's passion and death should be observed on a monday of holy week i failed to ask this morning.
perhaps someone else might like to volunteer, but it seemed just another reason to be sceptical about the whole thing, though hardly ranking with changing ancient chronologies to get jerusalem's temple destruction 2520 years before 1914.. anyway two gentlemen in white shirts and ties greeted me politely enough at my door and presented me with a flyer about an event which they described as momentous.
they asked me if i had ever intended one and i assented.

Do you mean how do they pick the day to celebrate? They always observe it after sundown on the day that corresponds to Nissan 14th or 15th (I forget which). I just know it is usually on the first full moon after the spring equinox.
