hi everyone, i'm new to this forum, and somewhat new to being out of the org [in recovery mode at present], and i'm looking to meet some fellow ex-jw's in person.
now that i'm "out" making new friends has proven to be a bit tricky since i'm a tad socially stunted due to my past.

I am truly sorry for you! I can relate a bit, as something similiar happend to me and a girl I once knew, although I'm currently a JW for family reasons. She was just attending meetings because her family went, but in the beginning she never believed any of it. We hung out a lot and we "dated" (in the JW sense) for a about half a year.
Then, she became a non-baptized publisher which is a fancy way of saying a person who knocks on doors and gives the mags to people without being an official member. Then, she went to New York to visit bethel for a week and came back a different person. She said if I didnt return to jehovah then I would die in armaggeddon!She got baptized later that year and I havent spoken to her since.
As to your question, (is it that easy to discard wordly's?) the sad truth is yes, it is. Once they have been indoctrinated, or in his case re-indoctrinated and return, they are mentally manipulated to just suddenly cut you off, w/out feeling bad or regret about it because in their eyes they've done the right thing for jehovah. It's just wrong on so many levels.
It's sad to watch the one you loved turn into something they are not and It's downright depressing when they go back to a religion that is so twisted and messed up. If you fell in love with him, it was 100% in. But to a JW, especially those who are out but looking to get back in, they can only ever be half in love with a "worldy". According to their beliefs, worldy people will be destroyed by god at armageddon, so they dont even really truly care about them. I do wonder if he ever confessed to having you as a girlfriend to the elders, or better yet, that you two had sex.
Your story is a cruel reminder of just how important it is to not get emotionally involved with jehovahs witnesses. I know that it will be difficult for you, but just hang in there. It will get better. It just takes time.

i had been feeling a little sick so i took some nyquil which gave me the craziest dream last night where i saw a jdub plan out and kill each one of the gb!

I had been feeling a little sick so I took some NyQuil which gave me the craziest dream last night where I saw a Jdub plan out and kill each one of the gb! Each made to look like an accident or like an illness. I don't know all their names and at this point I've forgotten most of their faces but It was very graphic and detailed. It was also a little frightening
There was a specific plan for each one. The brother was a bethelite and knew exactly what and where the gb would be. He poisoned one with a tasteless, odorless, untraceable substance. He then killed another by co2 poisoning. He mixed sleeping meds in another and drugged one as he took a bath in which he ultimately drowned to death. Then during a convention, he loosened the bolts on the stairs for the stage by going underneath it during the gb member's talk and placed electrical wires on the floor and a small cup of water edged between the crack of the top stair so that when he stepped on the second step it collapsed and the water made contact with the electric wiring causing a nasty bright electric shock that fried him instantly! That's all I can remember clearly, everything else is fuzzy.
It all happened so fast that it caught everyone off guard! I can't remember how all of them died I just know that it was intense and it brought this and other questions to mind.
So what do you guys think?

i have never heard this before until i read a life story of an ex-jws and how some jws in the past refused to eat pepperoni pizza because they thought blood was in pepperoni.
i do know some elderly jw sisters would complain about eating steak if it bled while cooking.
has anybody else heard of this pizza nonsense?.
Well I'd say that's crazy but when it comes to the org sadly nothing surprises me anymore...
And although I'm too young to have lived through the bloody pepperoni era, I did attend a party err I mean "gathering" where an sister was hauled into the back room for bringing "devils food cake" because it had stumbled some of the brothers in attendance!
It's both so ridiculously funny and sad!

i attended recently a circuit assembly and notice a change in the wording of the 2nd baptismal question .it used to be :.
"do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah's witnesses in association with god's spirit-directed organization?
now they changed it to :.
I just finished working on the audio recording for the special day assembly last week and in listening to the bother asking the questions all I heard were the same old ones... Nothing changed here!
But I've got several more to go to and even though I spend most of the time in the back rooms surfing the web in the sound/sign rooms or watching tv in the administration room (haha I never noticed that I get away with so much) I'll step into the main auditorium for the b-talk and have a good listen.
If anything changes, I'll definately steal the audio and post it on here!

So here's the deal, I am now in possession of my very own publisher cards. After opening the envelope and holding them in my hands I got this feeling of both power and disgust as they show just how much like a publishing company they are more so than a religion! I read here in the past that if you ever got a hold of your publisher cards that it could facilitate your leaving but I'm sketchy on the details. Could you guys give me some advice (especially from elders, ex-elders, ex-bethelites) or info on what to do with them? It would be great as I never thought I'd actually have them! Thanks! on a similar vein, i've been thinking of all the books i can leave behind once our kh blesses the ipad phenomenon.
in the meantime, this is what i have to lug in and why:.
I stopped bringing my bag to the meetings and just brought the bible, song book, KM, pen, and the book we study or the watchtower for sunday.
Then I slowly stopped bringing my song book as brothers are always so willing to share theirs with you
It's gotten to the point where now I just leave my stuff in the KH sound department box since I'm one of the only ones who operates it.
It's fun to see the brother's reactions as I enter the hall with my hands in my pockets and nothing but a "I dont give a f**k" grin!
