That remind me of what my father used to say when brothers encouraged him to work less and do pioneering: "when everyone would be pioneer their would be no donations". After all he was right.

They Need 5X More Money Than Pioneers! (Dec 1 Wt)
by metatron inthe dec. 1 watchtower is very remarkable - it is rare to read such a forthright article begging for money.. i don't recall any such appeal except when the society went into a panic over their 'voluntary donation arrangement'.
some years ago.. the article contains about 10 paragraphs concerning the need for more money ( "tithing", "material goods").
but only two about pioneering!

Tonight I am sad..very sad
by fulano in.
i was thinking of our friends who were tortured and who died in the concentration-camps in germany and other countries during ww2..and that all in vane as i understand now.. i was thinking of the missionaries of age who are frustrated in their assignments, who see how their lives have gone with no reward and finally without a purpose.. i was thinking of bethelites of age, with no change to go back into real world.. i am glad i had the guts to leave missionary-work at the age of almost 40 and at least have the next 40 years a real life!.

Stories of Bethel breaking down brothers into lumps of lifeless mush?
by Winston Smith :>D inwhen i was around the age that many a good young men travel to the earthly hq of jehover, ive had more than a handful of friends/acquaintances that went to bethel as normal and came back like they were put through the ministry of love [aka, torture in 1984]
one guy was reg pio, all the good stuff, went to bethel and was kicked out after less than a year.
came back to the congregation an alcoholic, started missing meetings, and then stopped going altogether.
