I am glad you see that talesin. The same is with travelling overseers. In Europe they are not that put on a platform at all. In fact, when we came in Brooklyn as missionaries for an assignment I was amazed and embarresd how we were treated....Ridiculous ! They gave as money in every congregation, just for telling experiences on a platform. It just did not feel good. -

No Magnum, it is not that glory you paint. Ok, they are respected, but not treated as you think. I lived there and served as an elder in Brooklyn Heights congregation with several GB members. At least with the Barrs I had a good contact, fine people I must say.
I even would say they get less "tips" than the average CO, most wouldnt even think about giving them Some lousy dollars.
I am just not getting it, that obsession with € or$ and the GB on this board.
Something else: That obsession with the GB is a typical US thing. You ask the average European, African or South-american...who are on the GB, bet they could not give you more than one name. It Is just " the society".

The ones who think they do it for money, sorry but that says it all about your upbringing or breed or no breed. What money do they earn? Do you really think they follow this all, waking up at 6:00 am, working all day at those ages, just to be driven to the airport in a lousy Chevrolet to go to give another talk anywere in the US or where ever? And that at the age were other people are retired?
No they are obsessed by there belief, organizacion. It's a psychological disorder. It might even be an american thing. No offense but I don't think that if the HQ would have been in Europe they would have been able to expand at this volume. Religion is an issue in the US but no longer here.

It's all so sad.
I hate my parents, but my mother was raised a jw. So what is she thinking about here jw parents. I got a life at 40, zero money. All expectations vanished. No family supporting, because yo left the truth. Now a new wife and daughter, let's say I'll have another 35 years to live, but why keep on living?

How big of a problem is apostasy.
by joe134cd ini often wonder if apostasy could be defined as the "silent problem", as the majority who leave for this reason choose to fade saying nothing.
in all the decades i was a witness i could probably count on 2 hands those who were disfellowshipped for apostasy.i must admit it wasn't until i came on the internet that i fully realise the depth and extent of the problem.
i think of that young girl high school speech that went viral, and you can't tell me all those 300000+ views were all none jws.

We had to df a 20 your old girl in our assignment for apostasy. She was in love with a local in our assignment and went on practicing " brujeria".
Went to a " Brujo" , killing a chicken at night, just to get the guy as a novio. Never had seen something like that before. In the same country as were R.Franz served for a while.
