counting time
by Sabin inyesterday jw knocked on my door, i was sitting in the office with the window right next to it, they couldn't see me & i decided not to answer.
they stood there for what seemed ages & as i watched something hit me.
they were here only because they were on the territory.

Nope the rule hasn't changed. No counting witnessing to baptized people. Otherwise, People would just stay home and talk to each other, lol -

That's it! The Jesus stories are most reasonably explained as myth. History makes this obvious.
by Island Man ina careful examination of the historical pagan religious context existing at the time of the genesis of christianity leads any reasonable person to conclude that jesus is just another one of several similar myths.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn7teoa9ark.

In the back of my mind, I always wondered:
I have worked with several schizophrenics, and some believe they are the son of god, or are being talked to by god directly. What if Jesus was just a convincing schizophrenic?

I always counted my time as I saw it fit, screw the rules.
If I got put in a car group with a bunch of crap people, and they took an hour-long McBreak, I counted it. Why? Because I relied on Jehovah for the strength to get through the day. Not walking out of there and screaming "this is bullshit!" was my service for that day. I encouraged those crap-ass people with my fake-ass presence. You're welcome.
If I stopped and saw a baptized person who was dealing with health issues, I counted it. Why? Because I think it was the right thing to do. If my bible studies were sick and I visited them, I was allowed to count it. But not if my fellow brother was sick? Encouragement is encouragement, right? Why does one count and the other doesn't? Bull. Count it all.
If I worked a territory far away, I counted the drive. "But brother, did you stop at a filling station and place a tract first to start your time?!?" NO. Either the drive counts or it doesn't. In my case, I left the house "for Jehovah", so it counts.
All in all, I agree with the above posters, counting time is a total farce anyway. When I did count time, my theory was this: If I was doing something I normally wouldn't do, and I was doing if 'for Jah', then I counted it.
I honestly think, if I didn't have to count my time, I would have done more. Wanting to do something and feeling charitable is a much stronger motivation then being told I HAVE to do something.

That old time religion............JW.Org
by punkofnice ini had a secret conversation with a dyed in the wool jw recently.. they told me that they felt that the organisation now was a different religion to the 'good old days' when knorr was the boss.
the books were more interesting.
the zeal was there.

Like I said in an earlier post, SEEING the governing body is what woke me up. They should have stayed behind the magic curtain. -

"So that we will not be confused with salesmen, it is best not to mention the donation arrangement unless we are asked..."
by Island Man in"so that we will not be confused with salesmen, it is best not to mention the donation arrangement unless we are asked how our work is financed.".
this damning quote is found on page 1 of the september 2015 our kingdom ministry, the last sentence in the 3rd bullet point under the sub-heading how to do it.
this quote amounts to an implicit admission that the jw practice of mentioning the donation arrangement to householders at the door, makes them look like door to door salesmen.. why would "jehovah's organization" be engaging in a practice that is nothing more than a transparent attempt at undercover soliciting?

"...we are not peddlers of the word of God as many men are..."
When I hear "peddlers of the word" I always picture bicycling Mormons...

Is this a subtle clue that the leaders really see the "great tribulation" of the WT coming soon?
by never a jw insimilarly, we cannotexpect that the future interruption inthe great tribulation will result in aninflux of new believers.
rather, it willbe an opportunity for all true believersto prove their love for jehovah andgive their support to christs brothers.. (par.
7, page 16, wt july 2015).

"Would you be willing to sign over your possessions to us, so we can "watch over your valuable things" while you flee to the figurative mountains, the underground bunker (sponsored by Kool-Aid), in Warwick? A former United States President was quoted as saying 'Read my lips! Armageddon is Nigh!' - Footnote, New York Times 1988. Ghandi once said 'Live as if you were to die tomorrow, donate like you mean it, bitches'. So let us fill the contribution boxes, in anti-typical fulfillment of the great filling of the Kool-Aid bunker. And for the love of Jah, don't forget to bring a fresh pair of khakis and a picnic basket for the new order just ahead!" -

Why bother creating all the other galaxies?
by purrpurr ini'm still reading and researching the bible.
a thought occurred to me... the universe is so huge and full yet most of it cannot be seen by the naked human eye.. while jw's could claim that god created the stars to look pretty/ for navigation... what about the rest that cannot be seen?
the huge never ending mass of universe that the bronze age writers of the bible had no idea about?.

What if for every inhabitable planet, there is a different Satan? God had to create enough planets to cast all of the rebel angels to each one. Life forms on each planet exist only to keep all of the Satans busy. -

Watchtard Dancing Around the Word "Rapture"
by freemindfade inthere were so many things wrong with this weeks watchtower, its hard to pick one, but one that really bothered me was this watchtower business and their delivery.
i have never seen them quite have to explain something away like this in a study article like this before.
shows me they are battling people feeling confused.

"They will be transferred, with the twinkling of an eye... and their physical bodies disposed of..."
In other words, when the GB makes off with the money and disappears (to the Camen Islands), we're supposed to think they were "non-raptured" away. And when Sister-thinks-she's-annointed is still munching crackers at the memorial, we'll all know she was faking it. The heretic!
