When I read your post and the response that you would like to send to your son, I was moved to tears. You sound like such a loving mother.
I think Tammy is right. You should seriously consider sending it to him. It just might touch his heart.
I hate this evil religion for destroying so many families and the heartache it has caused so many individuals.

hi everyone, i want to let you know that sometimes i feel ashamed of what i fell for regarding the jws.
its so clear now sometimes i actually feel embarrassed.
when i listen to recordings of assemblys - you know when they really get off on one, you cant help but see and feel the underlying cult propagated information thats being taught.

I know what you mean. A few weeks ago, I was explaining to a friend the beliefs of JWs. After a short while, I felt so embarrased that I used to believe the teachings of this peculiar religion. I was so ashamed that I don't think I will be admitting to anyone any time soon that I used to be a JW.

isaac was still breast-feeding at 5. can you imagine him being old enough to get baptized?.
here is a quote from plnlast month as many know my 6yr old and 8 yr old nieces were baptized.
they will be giving their first assembly parts at the district convetion on 2 days june 8th and august 3rd...their father will also be in the part and he is also participating in the drama.
How in the world would the parents of a 6 year old (or 8 year old) child allow them to be baptized?!? Any JW knows that their baptism is a life altering decision that could have devastating results for the family if these children "rebel".
They haven't even reached adolecense yet. This is very sad and pathetic.
i have to tell you that if you are currently shunned, although it may be painful....you are actually better off imo.
having had it both ways now, i am convinced that it was less painful than being halfway accepted (as i am now because my dad is sick).
my conscience is clear and it feels so good but at the same time i am in more pain than when i was shunned.

I am so sorry for the treatment you are receiving from your very own family. You have been so kind and uplifting to so many posters on this forum. It always amazes how unloving JWs can be and still profess to be "Christian".
i have faded out.
i still have just a handful of friends that are still involved, and we just don't talk about religion.
they have no idea what i really think about it all.
My sister is fading but still believes it's "the truth". Whenever I am around her, I try to plant a seed of doubt about the organization. I think telling her too much at one time would be too overwhelming for her.
