mkr32208,
I think scoobiedoo1 meant to type "Jeremiah Films".
hi, i'm fairly new to this site but i downloaded a film about one hour long on the history of the jehovah's witnesses!
i found it to be very good but i doubt that i could get someone (jehovah's witness) to watch it since they are ordered not to watch anything that might enlighten them event though the film is all truth supported by there own watchtower publications!
if any one is looking to see this film do a search for jerimiah films in limewire or kazaa, etc.... i know theres a lot of crap on these download sites but there are also good stuff!

i have a couple of questions for anyone who has been reinstated.. what kinds of questions did they ask you?.
if they decided to reinstate you were you told not to discuss why you were dfed, especially if another jw was involved?
What scriptures do they use to justify the whole practice of reinstatement?
oops, hit enter too early.
i'll post the actual message next.
lol!
Also, the Entergy Corporation is not a Christian organization. The WTS claims to be a Christian organization.
read the bible daily?
honestly do you?
or is it collecting dust on a table or shelf somewhere?
I read the Bible regularly, but not daily.
I think a better question is: Can a JW read the Bible through without the WT publications?
.
i do remember that as a jw, i was not allowed to donate to the salvation army because technically it is a church, but i don't remember anything about the red cross.. if jws are not allowed to do so, why not?
as far as i know, the red cross is not a faith-based organization.. marianne

i personally like:.
(matthew 23:13-15 nwt) 13 woe to you, scribes and pharisees, hypocrites!
because you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; for you yourselves do not go in, neither do you permit those on their way in to go in.
(John 5: 39-40 NWT): You are searching the Scriptures, because you think by means of them you will have everlasting life; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me, and yet you do not want to come to me that you may have life.
The WT does not apply this scripture to Christendom, but I thought it applied to the WTS perfectly.

i was talking to a friend, who said that the j.w.
's used (or wrote)?
a bible called "the kingdom interlinear bible" before they wrote the "new world translation bible".. she also told me there were differences in the translations of some of these scriptures.. can anyone tell me which scriptures are different?.
hubert,
The NWT translates John 17:3 as "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."
Other translations (in this case, the NIV) translate it as "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."
The difference is "knowing" which is personal and intimate vs. merely "taking in knowledge".
i was watching a great sci-fi movie the other day (chronicles of riddick) and there was a phrase in the movie that jumped out at me.
a soldier was being promoted and he said the phrase "obedience without question, loyalty till underverse comes".
i thought "wow, just replace underverse with armageddon and that sound just like the witnesses".

a few years ago, while i was still a jw, i started a topic on baptism:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/14060/1.ashx.
i wasn't aware of the in's-and-out's of the subject, just that i felt that my own baptism as a jw was somehow invalid, and wanted to do it properly.
I was also told that in baptism, a believer also identifies with Christ's death, burial and resurrection.
Romans 6:3-4: "Or don't you know that all of us baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life".
It was explained to me that the action of being immersed in the water pictures being buried with Christ. The action of coming out of the water pictures Christ's resurrection.

I was baptized a JW, but later, as a Christian, I knew I should be re-baptized when a pastor explained the following to me: baptism is an outward expression of what has already occured inwardly in a believer (accepting Jesus as Savior). Thus, baptism is a step of obedience in publicly proclaiming your faith in Christ.
