the intention of the media is to present the illusion of impartially informing, all the while pandering to prejudice and ignorance in order to persuade to a particular point of view.

datelines presentation of the watchtowers child abuse issue was a case study in the black art of media propaganda.. from the very beginning of the presentation dateline was intent on giving the public a negative impression of jehovahs witnesses by portraying us all as oddball crackpots whose religion revolves around the doctrine that we dont celebrate birthdays and that all non-believers are possessed by the devil and that we want them all to die.

There you go again calling 'PROBABLITY' as if it were 'REALITY'. This is the problem with life in the JW's...probability is made out to be the reality of a matter. Probably in some respect you may be correct about the Dateline agenda, however reality is the brothers taking the lead among us and you yourself are equally full of propaganda and deceit. Just note how you are demonising the term 'apostate'.You are practically spiting vile as you type the word, just as many brothers do almost literally in congregation talks. Why must you do this? Are you not pandering to prejudice and ignorance in order to persuade to a particular point of view? Would not the average JW reading your comments be biased into agreeing with you and ignoring the facts simply because an 'apostate' has said these things? Certainly he would... leaving him trapped in ignorance to Watchtower propaganda.
ALL I want to say is give the brotherhood a chance to hear both sides of each issue sorrounding our religious life and let them choose what to believe and practice.

JW Numbers Are Set To Grow

despite the lackluster records of jw number growth in the past 6 years, i believe that their numbers will start to swell again and remain high for at least another 10 years here is why.. the society is becoming more and more business like in its approach (especially after last year's re-org) on how to maintain and increase growth.

the wts, like any corporation when it becomes acutely aware of stagnation, begins to formulate a number of new techniques in order to bolster its sagging membership or sales.

this could include, tv ads (i believe intuit39 mentioned something to that effect), radio, newspaper and magazine ads and direct mailings.

Hello Ray,
I also have read your books.I wondered how it were possible that God's organization could actually be a fraud and get away with it for so long. For me your writings explained the dynamics behind the birth of a religious movement like the WTS. Thank you for your contribution in releasing so many lovers of freedom from bondage to the Brooklyn masters.Interestingly I was subscribed to TIME magazine back in 1981(?)when I caught sight of the article printed about you. I was too naive at the time to understand it, but I did show it to an elder and asked what it all meant, well he shrugged it off as apostate and I bought ino it.However to this day I could tell he was both distressed but also very impressed. I wish I had of pursued questioning your cause. Anyway better late then never!

in the corporate world the top leaders are of course responsible when something goes wrong in the organization they lead.

why should it be different in the religious area?

during its existence the watchtower society has printed all kinds of articles about who are chosen to become elders in the watchtower organization.. the sum of all of them is that these men are appointed by all the big shots in the universe starting with jehovah, which in turn delegates the handling of this matter to jesus which in turn works his wonders through a mystic entity called the holy spirit.

More than likely The SOB who wrote that crap is dead and gone, but his SOB alunni are still very influential. The WTS point of view with regards to the future of this system is still foremost on the minds of young JW's, even those in college and university! Therefore you will hear in their vocabulary and see it in their written word that they do not take schooling seriously.You will hear them express confusion as to what professions they should pursue that will benefit them now in serving the WT and that will still be valid professions for eternal life in the paradise earth etc, etc.

Point is,it was sad back in 1968 for that young generation, but no less sad in 2002. 30 years from now many will be just as disappointed as we are, and they too will have no recourse.

Secret agents in the society?

i've just mentioned on another thread how in russia secret agents managed to get into high postions of authority in the society there in order to keep a watch on what they were doing.. i believe this has happened in other countries to.. so how about this, do the british and american goverments have infiltraitors in the society to keep a watch on them?.

it seems an obvious thing to do if you are in power, you somehow need to keep track of what fringe groups are doing.. could they even be high up in the org if they are there?.

there was an article in one of the newspapers this week that claimed over 1000 organisations in britian are involved in secret obsevations of individuals and groups for various reasons.. it seems possible that they would want to keep tabs on groups like the witnesses.. what do you think?

Secret agents in the society?

MOVING TO WHERE THE NEED IS GREATER

how many of us would like to see wts brought to task for encouraging us to "go where the need is greater" and then not supporting our efforts or trying to subvert them by all means of organizational rules and regulations after our having gone through much pain and trouble to relocate our family and have suitable employment?.

or am i the only one who has experienced an abusive scenario in this regard?
