Great authors.

i have so many that range from shakespeare, eckhart tolle to wilbur smith and subjects that cover everything from fiction, fantasy, poetry to non fiction.. i started reading a series many years ago but never got around to completing it.

i've come across it again and am thouroughly enjoying it.

the author is terry pratchett and the series is discworld.

What made you leave?

apologies if this has been discussed before, but i am really very interested in finding out why members here left their congregations for lives away from jw?.

was there a "lightbulb" moment where you just woke up one day and realised that you had been brainwashed?

or a slow realisation over time?

For me it started with the pressure 'to do more' in field service. It was difficult for me being a single mother and working full time. I also had doubts on the WTS teachings on matters such as no blood, celebrations, no higher education etc. Then I discovered this site and realized I was not the only who felt trapped. I DA'ed from the cult.

i observed that there was a lot of rituals involved.

panhandlegirl - Thanks for sharing. I had a pleasant time getting to know the people there, they were friendly. I noticed too that they were from all walks of life.

anezthy - I didn't mean it in a bad way. The local Catholic Church here were crowded with converts. Which is why I wanted to know the reasons for choosing this religion. Sorry if you are offended.

Memorial is more important than dying relative!

my husband is gravely ill sedated and on a ventilator.
