Is this the best you can come up with, that we're all demonized? Well I've heard that before so it's nothing new to me, just the same old same old.

Try to have a little love in your heart for others. Is this the way you would want others to treat you? The truth to me is that no person, church, organization etc. on this earth can save us. Only God can because salvation comes from God. That's why I look to God and trust and hope in Him. That when I fall as we all do at one time or another, He is there to lift me up. I believe His love is everlasting and never changes because God never changes. He does not view the outward appearance of a person but he sees the heart. His love never fails. And this is how I have found the peace of God that surpasses all understanding although it took many years to get to this point. I hope you can find the peace of God in your heart.

I became a JW in my early twenties, no one else in my family was or is a JW. The reason why I guess would be that up to that point, I had been to so many churches and none of them helped me spiritually. I was very close to God as a child. My view of God at that time was that he was a loving God and Father. But the churches taught me differently on so many things about God. So I lost that childlike faith, a simple faith but at the same time I had a very close connection to God. So I was always trying to recapture that and I guess I thought that being a JW, I might be able to do this. Because when this JW lady came to my house the first time, she asked me, "Would you like to hear some good news"? Yes, I wanted to hear some good news for a change. I wanted to hear good things about God, about his love and about love for others. The gospel that Jesus preached, that was what I wanted to hear. But I had to go through this program of being taught what they wanted me to learn first, a weekly bible study, reading a certain number of books, answering 100 questions before I could even be baptized and even then I was told I wasn't ready so I had to wait till they said I was ready. But I guess after all this, I was just so brainwashed that I had all but forgotten what I really wanted to hear in the first place. And I was convinced at the point that this was what I had to do so I did it.

since satan gets all the heat for all of the bad things that happens in the world ex: the devil made me do it!.

Just my opinion but Satan might be to blame for many things but not for everything.

we all know jw children must sit quitly in there seats or they are taken to the back and given a spanking.

Reminds me of an experience I had in Florida. A "sister" saw bruises on my youngest son. So the next thing I know I'm in an elders meeting. I tried to explain how my son got those bruises; he was on a tire swing in the yard and fell out of the swing onto some tree roots. They of course didn't believe me so I was "reproved" and they said I should be glad they didn't call DFCS. All this just on what this sister thought I had done and on her word alone. Needless to say, I stopped going to that particular KH. My respect for the elders dropped many notches that day.

I haven't posted in awhile because I forgot my password but I gotta say, I am really getting some much needed laughs/humor from this picture and from what some of you are saying. I guess they wouldn't want to do a picture of the wife bringing him a bottle of beer.... I mean wouldn't that be a little more realistic? I guess drinking coffee and reading the newspaper is as worldly as it gets. I am so doomed....
