this evening i have just watched a news item that concerned a baby that has been abandoned by the side of a busy main road.
the bbc did a short feature on people who had been found after being literally left on a doorstep somewhere as a new-born baby.. one woman, in her early 60s now, said that she never could get any peace because she just didnt know why her unknown mother had left her on a strangers doorstep.
she didnt know her own name, she didnt even know when she was born or where.

I can't remember one, and I’ve been to dozens – we aren’t allowed to enjoy ourselves properly and have a good time at all - so no matter how miserable you are for not going, you won't be any more miserable than the poor unfortunate ones that ARE going!!

i recently started dating my neighbor.
a couple of nights into the late night talks, he told me the reason he hasn't dated in awhile is beacuse he is a witness.
i was surprised, but okay with it.
If he is observed by two JWs to be smoking then he will be ousted, disfellowshipped, even if he denys it.
As Xander puts it, he is definitely a "weak" JW, so how can he possibly honestly believe that the JW religion is "the truth"? If he did, then he would know that God is watching him all the time. He is already doing lots of things that are wrong by JW standards, and he should know he can't get away with it. If Armageddon comes while he's having a smoke then he's dead meat!

in g2,(guardian part 2)page 14/15,a question of colour, we are informed that each individual differs by about 3 million nuceotides.. its says in an anti-evolution article that it is impossible to have more than 3 nucleotides changes per generation(it would be fatal!
)therefore if above is true, there must have been 1.5 million generations for everyone to be here.. meaning the wt idea of 4,000 bc must be bullshit!

i was really touched by those who responded to my story.
since posting it however, i have not felt like the strong person those who replied made me out to be.. between posting my story, wanting to post my story at silentlambs, and the pure bullshit the wts is spewing and causing those honest souls who risk and are feeling the wrath of the gestapo to protect victims, i haven't slept; my nerves are on a raw edge; my migraines won't go; i'm on the verge of tears out of the blue; i'm afraid of nightfall; i'm afraid of noises, of phonecalls, of mail.
i'd kick the crap outa my heavy bag if i had the energy.
I felt the need to respond to your post today, because your post last week affected me so much - but I really don't know what to say! I've given some stoopid advice here before, so I won't say anything dumb about where you should go from here; but one thing I must say is that when I've felt down recently, the positive responses that I have had from this forum have made a massive difference - the big wave of love I get from here is a million times more genuine than I have ever got from any KH, because it is unconditional and genuine. Please keep in touch. There are a whole heap of people here that care deeply about you, and feel your pain.

watchtower has stated they wish to reveal no information about the upcoming judicial hearing being conducted against those who are on the dateline program.
they say they are confined to ecclesial privilege and are unable to offer to the public any information other than it is not related to silentlambs but has to do with some other infraction that breaks gods law.
with the statement below we ask watchtower to release to everyone any charges or information about breaking gods law they have against carl and barbara pandelo, barbara anderson, and william h. bowen.

By speaking out for ones that are too frightened and traumatised to speak for themselves, you have earned the love and respect of not only those who are not Jehovah's Witnesses, but also those within the group that recognise that wrongs have been committed by the organisation that was supposed to protect them.
If the Jehovah's witnesses Governing Body are truly God's representatives on earth we should expect that they would show the humility that befits people that are supposed to follow Jesus Christ's lead. They would not be thinking of saving their own skins and saving face by tenaciously following a irrational course that they set themselves with no thought of the consequences.
If there is a God, and he recognises that Jehovah's witnesses are actually his own people, he will have to ensure that his name is not dishonoured, there is no question of that. So either way, this matter will HAVE to be resolved, it cannot be covered over or ducked.

it's true, she really did have someone call to take a bible study with her.. it had been set up by my parents who had convinced her that it was her duty to look into the religion that their wayward son (moi!
) had rejected.. she studied for 3 or 4 weeks, she eventually became frustrated with the methods that were used, she said that she didn't mind them supplying some answers, but she was blowed if she was going to allow them to supply the questions as well!.
it all ended unhappily, as she was voicing her opinion to the lady "study conductor", her little boy (a horrible spoiled brat) emptied out the contents of hl's handbag onto the floor, revealing a half pack of benson & hedges king size.. the woman was appalled at this, and was stupid enough to tell hl that she would have to give it up if she was going to get into the kingdom.

Well, at least she was honest - we are told to be very tactful early on about things that "our studies" do that contradict the teachings - in reality we don't want to scare them off with the full facts about being "in the truth" do we?
She was displaying a typical behaviour that comes when someone is totally isolated from reality. JWs cocoon themselves in their mutual appreciation society so much and have so much of a superiority complex, its bound to leak out occasionally!
By the way, as a gauge to how they generally view "studies", do you remember any ways that JWs have introduced their "studies" that made you really cringe? How about "Hello, this is my goodwill", which was popular in the 60's and 70's? And did you ever get a hint of JWs being disappointed when their studies get baptised because of the "there goes my 4/5 hours a month!" factor? Hmm...

somehow, in the middle of ruining her dream life--the nice house, loving, caring person to share it with, she finds herself totally smittened by joe blow, and starts thinking about him more than she thinks about her john doe dude.
Different people feel differently about different things. Different people have different opinions on what constitutes love, so you are bound to get different answers to this question. If you get two people together that feel the same about life and love, then they are very lucky!
I personally think that if you truly love someone, their concerns and everything in their lives are actually more important than your own, and this should guide the way you think and feel and the way you deal with other people. Artists and writers or musicians are often very intelligent and complex, but they may be emotionally very shallow at the same time. I don't think being an intellectual necessarily means that you have a heightened or superior perception of what love is.
When you get deeply hurt though, it hardens you and this makes you more selfish, it's a shame but it's totally understandable. I hope everyone concerned can rebuild their lives and learn to trust again.
