  JWs talk about Panorama

  it seems that uk jws are talking about panorama...a lot.

  i approached jws i know with the simple question "so i suppose people are talking about panorama?".

  the response is generally one with no surprise, no fear, basically no problem at all!

  Nothing has been mentioned at my hall, no letter, nothing. None of the brothers and sisters in my congregation has said anything about it. When something is buzzing you usually overhear lots of conversations about it before and after the meeting and in the groups for the ministry, but not this week.

  All I do know is that up to yesterday morning our PO knew nothing of Dateline, let alone Panorama. It was a member of my family that told him, and that was because I made a point to ensure that all my family watched Dateline.

  one time movie legend and oscar winner who played in fantastic pictures pasted away today at age 78, can you remember one of your favorite movies with him in it.

  the neighbour, a real psyco doctor, and crazy neighbour.

  I am a massive fan. What a shame, I felt he was always underrated. Who can forget him in On the Waterfront! He was a total original.

  I think he was always at his most moving not just when acting, but when he was talking about himself and his life, particularly the mental illness he had suffered. His honesty was heart-rending.

  This is my favourite fluffy thing Carol, although you will undoubtedly not know what the hell I'm on about!

  It's the legendary DJ Alan "Fluffy" Freeman. I guess an American equivalent to him would be Casey Kasem!

  2 of the above were also 'arranged' marriages, do you know of any other instances of extremes in jw marriage age ranges?

  All I can say is "You dirty old man!!". Yes, I have noticed a huge amount of these marriages, and the upshot of it is that young Jehovah's Witness men are generally poor earners, and perhaps a young sister might want a bit more financial security, and who can blame them?

  The kind of environment in you local Kingdom Hall is the same kind of environment of general society about 50 years ago. Sisters are not expected to have a career, but are expected to look after the home! Sisters also like a brother to have a position in the congregation; a single Elder is often hot property, even if they have a face like a baboon's arse.

  Thank you for that!

  I adore this woman. I remember when I first saw her live I had a bit of a surprise when I found myself surrounded by screaming queens. I didn't realise she had that kind of following! It was cool though, us straight guys are bores aren't we?!

  I'm glad that next weeks programme was mentioned at the end of yesterdays. Another point: Is there going to be any editorial/article in the Radio Times for next week? The TV guides will be out today, and so I would be interested to see if there was any background information on the programme in any of them. Please look through your copy and post the write-ups!

  U2K, what are you on about? Why are you so certain of your faith considering you don't seem to know basic biblical teachings. Please do some more research before you make decisions about whether or not you want children.

  (Please bear in mind that U2K is not a Jehovah's Witness, although he does believe some of their doctrines, primarily Armageddon, which he wastes no time in mentioning in practically every post.)

  He's an absolute little darling! Thank you for keeping us up to date with how you are and stuff. Because dateline was shown in Europe for the first time yesterday, there's a whole lot more people in the world that now know what you've been through.

  Has Anybody Here Been Yet?

  has anybody here been to this summer's district convention yet?

  i was wondering if someone could give me a brief synopsis of what the drama was about, as well as any "new releases" that came out.

  i'm asking because i'm sure my mother will be calling soon with her yearly "how did you enjoy the convention, dear" conversation, and since i have no intention of going to the convention (or any meetings for that matter) but i'm not quite ready to tell her that yet, i'd like to be able to at least give her something to create the illusion i was there.

  i am cassilines husband.

  i know cassiline has alot of friends that monitor this board so i thought i would post a surgery status on cassiline to let everyone who cares about her know how everything is going.

  first of all, i would like to say thank you to the owner of this board, friends and aquintances of cassinline, for all the help you have provided not olny for her but for others that are out there with problems who seek the assistance from people that have a similar state of understanding about the jw religion.
