  It's the first time in years that I haven't been to any of the Proms. I usually go a couple of times a year. The tickets are such good value and there's such a brilliant atmosphere in the RAH.

  Home theater speaker question

  i am about to start wiring my house for home theater speakers and i'm wondering what type of jack i should install in the wall behind the tv.

  i've noticed all sorts of speaker jacks that are available and i have no idea which ones i should use..

  it's been a year since i started my job at wal-mart.

  it has been an eye opening experience how they treat their workers.. here is one the ways they cut costs.

  i was hired as a sales clerks which is the lowest paid position.

  Walmart is supremely successful because they have no real competition in the US - in many areas they have a complete monopoly. In the UK, under the guise of ASDA, they have plenty of competition, particularly from Tesco, who also operate large, all-under-one-roof type superstores. They also aren?t allowed to build their hideous supercenters everywhere and anywhere they want in the UK like they do over here.
  
  When I speak to people who only shop at Walmart for their groceries I find out that they generally think they are the cheapest. Why? Because they are told they are the cheapest, and just presume that they are! Very few Walmart customers have the time to do real price comparisons - they like the convenience of getting everything under one roof. I?ve checked prices at Albertsons, Kash n? Karry and Publix and have found that on branded goods they are certainly not always the cheapest - it pays to shop around.

  Thunderbirds are go

  i went to see thunderbirds last night - i used to love thunderbirds when i was a kid and when i was an adult.

  this film however left me a little dissappointed.

  anyother film recently you have seen that left you feeling let-down?

  It didn't do too well last weekend in the US - didn't even make the top ten. The movie really wasn't given enough publicity (Unlike the huge marketing of The Village) and was given many poor reviews, mainly by Thunderbird geeks who made up their mind they were going to hate it before they saw it. I don't think the original Thunderbirds has quite the cult following in the USA that it has in other countries (no merchandising) and so the pester-power from kids was minimal.

  Kingdom Hall For Sale

  while driving thru town the other day, i noticed a kingdom hall with a "for sale" sign in front of it.

  i am wondering...... what are your views on why they would sell it?

  The Kingdom Hall where I used to go to was also for sale as a bigger hall with better parking is required for the local congregation. When the hall originally went up for sale a board went up in front of the hall from the local estate agents. I noticed this while driving past and reported it to the congregation Secretary - I knew it wasn?t customary to have a ?For Sale? notice up in front of a Kingdom Hall. I suppose it depends on the area but in the UK Kingdom Halls never have ?For Sale? notices outside because it ?doesn?t look good?. It gives the impression the local Witnesses aren?t doing well and are ready to up sticks and leave town! Anyway the Elder I contacted arranged for it to be removed, but as far as I know the hall is still for sale - you just need to contact the agents directly to get details.
