  As someone who is still an active publisher I find this place an oasis of sanity from my crazy Witness world.

  Has it helped me? I was in a state of hopeless desolation earlier this year. This site, the people I've met from here, have literally saved my life.

  I've been online since 1994, and this was also the very first forum I joined, apart from some dull technical ones, it really makes you realise what the internet can do for people!

  What the hell was I thinking?

  have any of you ever had a moment your life you replay in your mind?

  over and over, and thwack your head against the wall saying "what the hell was i thinking?

  " or going along just fine, and then have something remind you of the time you were a total loser--and you blush uncontrollably (for no reason at all the outside world seems to think) and rush for the nearest brick wall to commence with the "what the hell was i thinking" battery?

  GOING TO GIVE MY OWN BLOOD

  i'm going to the blood bank today to donate my own blood for my upcoming surgery.

  what's the society's viewpoint on storing your own blood?

  i don't see anything in the bible that would hint there's anything wrong with re-using your own blood.......

  Yes, I remember reading that the blood that leaves your body is supposed to be "poured onto the ground" ceremoniously!

  It's difficulty to keep pace with the society's current view as it seems to change by the day. Fact: I have been criticised in the past for putting my hand in my mouth when I've had a cut finger! I guess I was supposed to drape it downward and let it drip on the floor in order to be a good witness.

  what is the rule for a jw on reading different versions of the bible besides the nwt?

  can they compare between them?

  There has been a lot of comment here about the flaws in the New World Translation, but a witness can happily distort and twist most bible translations.

  Before the full NWT was launched in 1961, Witnesses generally used the King James, or Authorised version. They also used the American Standard Version extensively.
