i will have to add that to the list.
From reading the message, I don't think that he lacks education. He writes as if he was a foreigner and English is his second language. I know many spanish people that speak English similarly.
Dogpatch said "when they". "They" is a very general word. This is just one poster. It does not represent the whole body of JWs.

Benefits of Bloodless Surgery:
Many benefits come along with choosing to undergo bloodless surgery. Some of which are: never having to worry about the blood being contaminated with a serious disease, and also knowing that the surgeons aren't going to take any loss of blood lightly. Even though there is a very slim chance of getting a serious disease in more developed countries, it is still comforting to know that no chances are being taken.
Also it's nice to know that the doctors who are working on the patient are concerned with their needs and don't take their pre-surgical requests lightly. Hence much comfort is given to those who choose to undergo a bloodless surgery.

tonight i was leaving my flat with my brother, when a drunk guy from across the road came over shouting that his freinds apartment was on fire.. my brother and my kicked in the door, and went in to the flaming building three times.
we eventually found him slumped over in a sofa.. i thought we were goners because we got lost on the way out, the smoke had by this time filled the room.. my brother and me dragged him out the door when his collection of half finished whisky bottles and gas lighterc refills exploded.. the only casualty was us with smoke inhalation, and my brothers car keys which fell out of his pocket in the rush.. look in the lisburn star on fridays for my smokey face.
a good day .. josephus
I have had the priviledge of bringing 17 people into the truth in my years of service. I am very joyous to have helped in saving their lives.
Now that I am disfellowshipped, I am trying to save my own life by gaining back Jehovah's trust and favor. I pray daily to Jehovah to give me the strength to go on.
Peace.
in a strong statement of faith on another thread, our regular poster and self-appointed chief wts apologist gave this description of the god of jehovah's witnesses:.
the controversy is between jehovah and satan.. that will satisfy satan's acusations that jehovah has put a protective hedge around us .
so the god he worships is on an equal footing with a created being?
It's not about who is more powerful. Of course that Jehovah is more powerful than Satan. The issue is about sovereignty and who has the right to rule. Satan never accused Jehovah of being weeker but questioned the right of rulership.
You need to reread YouKnow's post and understand that this is what he is referring to.

Crisis in the Catholic Church
By Cal Thomas
Crisis was a Roman Catholic magazine before the crisis of priests as sexual predators made headlines.
In the April issue of the magazine, co-founder Ralph McInerny offers an explanation for the scandal that has captured the attention of the media, for the most part no friend to religion unless it's wrapped in earthly agendas approved by mostly pagan "bishops" at The New York Times and the networks.
McInerny believes that the Catholic Church in America has a problem with some priests molesting children because "our bishops have permitted a culture of dissent, largely defined by bizarre conceptions of sexuality, to flourish in the Church."
Too many American Catholics, along with Protestant and Jewish liberals, have cared more about democracy than about orthodoxy, more about what they think and feel than about theological absolutes. The objective for such people has been not to please God but to please earthly powers - from media commentators to one's friends to one's self.
The problem of predatory priests arose, writes McInerny, "because bishops acted like CEOs rather than shepherds." Theological dissent over basic doctrines became equated with political dissent guaranteed by a constitution, which may have been "inspired" but not divinely so. What's good for the country - dissent - also became viewed by some as good for the Catholic Church.
McInerny dates the modern decline from Catholic orthodoxy to 1968, when liberal theologians rejected the pope's Humanae Vitae, which restated certain boundaries for sexual expression. The "moral theologians" who rejected the document displayed an attitude, says McInerny, which was "antithetical to Christian morality."
His point, and it is a good one, is that the leaders of the Catholic Church in America (and one might also argue the same applies to many Protestant leaders) were compromised because they feared the criticism of the world more than they feared disapproval from God.
The same attitude prevails in many churches today. Some no longer affirm the validity of the Resurrection, the central doctrine of the Christian faith. Not do they accept the many miracles performed by Jesus, or proclaim that one should live in any way other than to please one's self. Too many churches abandon doctrine at the first sign of secular disapproval for fear of being called names and being rejected by the unchurched masses.
Do they not know? Have they not heard? "You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God," said James, the brother of Jesus (James 4:4).
Instead of orthodoxy and discipline, some in the Catholic Church and other churches have sought the world's approval. They falsely believe that large congregations are necessarily evidence of God's approval. Except, as they compromise, their congregations dwindle in size as people seek meat elsewhere to replace the mush they're getting in the "church of what's happening now."
Instead of faithfulness to God, they have in too many instances lusted after the things of which the world approves: tolerance, pluralism, wealth, bigness, political influence and visibility. What they've received in return is corruption in their souls and in their leadership.
Too many Catholics, as well as others who call themselves Christians, think they should be able to create God in their image. Catholics want to remain Catholic while at the same time rejecting some of the basic teachings of their church. Can one be a member in good standing of the NAACP if he's a racist?
Whether the issue is divorce, or sexual expression of any and every kind, these theological lone rangers think they are God and get to decide right from wrong. Did God die and leave them in charge? In their minds, apparently he has (or is it she?).
The best approach to solving the problem of a few priests who prey on minors, and theological liberalism in general, is for the Catholic Church to return to the original rulebook, Scripture, which was written and delivered for the protection and redemption of humanity, and stop listening to the siren call of the world, which is headed in another direction.
i just watch the montel williams show on "the catholic church: scandal and sin".
"its a scandal shrouded in secrecy that many believe the roman catholic church has enabled...meet alleged victims of sexual abuse and hear the churchs response.
" i just sent him a response in regards to the fact that the catholic church is not the only religion that has covered sexual abuse in its ranks.
Will:
That is true. But what about the case where in their 20's or 30's and suddenly recalling the abuse when they were 6 or 7 year olds? In that case, the health care professional would not be able to do anything for the victim.
since the sect's leadership had painted itself into a corner a change had to come about.
governing body members were required to be of the "anointed" class, composed of men who became witnesses as adults before the year 1935. this excludes younger men, and limits the governing body to an older group each year.
few men in their 80s or 90s are up to running a corporation.. during the mid-1990s the witnesses attempted to sidestep the problem by beginning to appoint a few younger men who had earlier declared themselves to be of the anointed.
Rather than change the doctrine, the Witnesses have restructured the organization. Since the Governing Body is no longer connected to the corporate Board of Directors, the Watchtower corporations can be run by a new generation of younger men.
You are very correct Dutchie. In actuality, the GB is getting ready for the leadership shift when all of the annointed have died and resurrected in heaven. Eventually the "other sheep" class have to take the lead among Jehovah's people. It's a divine plan.

AM:
As a parent, I have to agree with you in your feelings. I live in Texas and we have a death penalty in our state. Although the state is criticized for this, I don't think the victims criticize it. It's called justice.
But it's not up to the Christian congregation to physically execute these wrongdoers. Divine justice will come at it's due time. Jehovah will read the hearts of all wrongdoers and act accordingly.

he/she should be dealt with criminally
I agree fully with your comment William if the person has been proved to be a pedophile.
Like Celia remarked these individuals are sometimes moved to other congregations and because they have been dealt with by the elders, their sin has been covered up.I reread through Celia's posts and did not see where she said that these individuals are "sometimes moved to other congregations". Either way, no witnesses are moved by the Watchtower Society to other congregations when they have been disciplined by a judicial committee. Now, the individual might decide to move, but that is his choice. When someone moves to another congregation, the elders in the new congregation will request the publisher cards and a letter of introduction for that individual. It has been Watchtower policy since the early 90's that if the individual is a child molester or abuser, that this should be included in the introduction letter. This way the elders in the new congregation are warned and can keep a close eye on the individual.
