Something that has helped me understand why people continue to go to church
by JimmyPage inthe more i realized how ridiculous religion as a whole is the more i wondered why so many people even bother to continue going to church.. but someone on this board made a comment recently that has stuck with me- it's something that i could never relate to because i was brought up a jw.
and maybe many people here have trouble relating too for the same reason.. the comment was simple: people go to church because they enjoy it.
it was a new thought to me because as a jw meetings have always been such a bland and boring affair.

People need religion or religious sentiments because they just can't phathom being alone and self determined. Its the final frontier and they aren't there yet.
Completely wrong. I think anyone that has the wherewithall to leave the cult has a great measure of independance and self-determination. You would never leave if not.

I go regularly and take communion. To me, it's a spiritual thing, I enjoy it, I love the rituals and, finally, when I take communion, it's like I'm giving the WTBTS a big FU because I am good enough to partake. I don't need someone telling me I'm unworthy.

Bridge Publications - Also a publishing cult

i ran across this on one of the case studies i'm working on for my job.
the case study describes bridge publishing as this: "a major religous book publisher that ... employs volunteer labor forces.. and, of course, bridge publishing is no one other than scientology.

I thought this was interesting. I ran across this on one of the case studies I'm working on for my job. The case study describes Bridge Publishing as this: "A major religous book publisher that ... employs volunteer labor forces.
And, of course, Bridge Publishing is no one other than Scientology. If the JW's say Scientology is a cult, how can they not see it themselves? The side by side comparison of these two organizations shows multiple similarities.

A thought just occurred to me about prior to the creation of the universe
by poppers inwould god the father pre-exist the other two?
if not, what would their purpose be, what function did they serve?.

If you are referring to the Trinity, then no. All are eternal and preexistent, none was ever without the others.
That isn't true. The bible comes out clearly and states that Jesus is the begotten son of God. Begotten meaning
1. (especially of a male parent) to procreate or generate (offspring). 2. to cause; produce as an effect: a belief that power begets power. The Father Almighty had to be before "procreating or generating" the Son.

Mustard baths work really well for deep congestion. You can find reciepes for it online.
