" the issue is the "vindication" of jehovah's name.. at some point the publications ceased this teaching, with an almost casual watchtower reference to the fact that 'obviously jehovah's name does not need to be vindicated.
' keen students were surprised that no major article appeared to lay out this change.. i don't have the tools to follow this up, so could i impose on someone to fill me in with citations?

Drama
by noidea inthe drama for 2001 was a retake of the drama of 1981,. in regards to speaking out against jehovah's mouthpiece.

i was wondering if the 1981 drama was because of the happenings of ray franz?

The original 1974 drama was written by Ed Dunlap, Gilead instructor. Maybe it's failing memory but my recollection is of a far more subtle presentation originally, then the next one was a twist of no little irony because of Ed's dismissal from Bethel. The 1981 dichotomy is well described by TD. The lines were not very subtle but stretched to fit the times.
Did not catch this year's, but it is described as coarse, blunt, "idiotic," and very transparent. (One wag described it as "the Jaracz' snarl at its finest.") At least to those who correspond with me, it clearly signaled the difficulty the hierarchy of "glorious ones" is facing.
I initiated a thread on the km position on college, as some will remember. I've had numerous letters to the effect that the SM program actually had the opposite effect, of pointing up the need for some kind of higher education! In one congregation the only person qualified to play the part of the kid was a person already going to college!

Sad to say, we know this, having heard it over and over; society at large does not. Watchtower says it's just folks who are disgruntled about something. That's about to be exposed on a very large scale.
What I'm feebly trying to convey to you is that you and your precious wife are NOT unimportant. Doesn't matter whether you are part of Dateline or not. When you need specific help, it will be there. People will be reading this who have very powerful connections, and I don't mean inside Watchtower.
I'm dealing with a family who has been treated "like shit" for many years who now will be vindicated for all to see, after a very long time of intense pain. That's reward enough for Bill and me, and for a very special person who has taken an enormous risk to make this possible.

Dateline awaits a new season in the Fall; it's now preparing new programs, and also wants to dot the i's and cross the t's. This is not a spur of the moment presentation, but it is the most thoughtful and exhaustively researched presentation I have experienced in over half a century of my own exposure to similar projects.
The producer is keenly aware of the power the network has, and he wants to get it right, with chips falling where they may. He's an extraordinary man. I trust him. Truth will out.

I've perhaps given you the wrong impression, that your story is needed. My heart wanted to give you the opportunity to be part of the stories that will be told. Your names are not needed, nor frankly is your story, although it may provide yet another piece to this miserable puzzle. A whole day would have to be devoted to all of the stories they have heard, and that's not possible.
The Watchtower Society/ Watch Tower Society/ Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses has a potential enormous loss ahead of them, not just in money damages. They are counting on fear to prevent folks from speaking out. Doesn't have to be on this specific program. Don't give away your power, Jim.

I'm on this board because of deep compassion for individuals just such as you. It would be so easy just to go on with my life.
You would not appear on camera; there are already devastatingly compelling stories that will be presented. Frankly it would be more confirmation of the horrible realities that so many have faced, but it might help you to know there are individuals like Bill B who are sacrificing family and life-time friends just to tell the truth--and good men and women in the media who want to give you a voice.
The Society has backed off anyone involved with the Dateline program because they are extremely nervous about it, and they know that all it takes is one Elian Gonzalez story to capture the world's attention with the truth. "Honest-hearted persons" will hear the ring of truth.
When you read of local SM presentations and the km that says there is going to be bad publicity, let me tell you this is the only thing in which the organization will prove to be true prophets.
I just wanted you to know you have powerful resources should you choose to exercise them. Many of us risk much, me included, because I know this board is monitored and the thugs are always ready to pounce. One human life with all its privileges is so very, very precious. How do you tell the good guys from the others? We have hearts, and we freely expose them, whatever the risk.
