I'm a JW...HERE ME WHINE!!!

i don't even know where to start.

every jw i still have contact with is poor, their health is bad, they're stressed out, they're unhappy people.

they put on a good front but you can see the strained smiles, those distant looks into nowhere (or where their life could have gone).

Well most meetings are about what YOU CAN DO! YOU SHOULD DO! SHOULDN'T DO! Then you get the weird fellowship before or afterwards. there's always an elder that wants to shake your hand a bit longer than normal as if to say "Sooooo, where have you been? Haven't seen you in FS in a while." but not really say it out loud. Once I missed so many meetings a sister said "What congregation are y'all in now?" I laughed!

I told a brother "yeah, I was so busy at work training people for new software we've got coming in" He got sarcastic and said "Even on Saturday's?" (referencing my rare appearance to FS) I said "Hey! gotta put food on the table and keep the lights on" so HE says "I understand. It's difficult for all of us, but we don't want to let Satan's system make us focus too much on material gain. We don't want to be working overtime and then End come while we're working." (the balls on this guy) So I just said "Yeah, well I think Jehovah would understand that I'm providing for my family especially since my wife's a stay at home mom. Besides, the Society knows the End is coming, but that wouldn't stop them from keeping the Society running right? Imagine if they stopped all of the building work and spending money for conventions or asking for donations. They would eventually go broke right? And where would that put you? So if I don't do my job my kids don't get that physical food at the proper time...and that makes me worse than a wicked person, don't it? " SILENCE!

WELL... WHEN I finally decide to leave for good, (should be within the next year. I have to get things in order b/c my wife...if she were a man would be a C.O. b/c she's a die hard R&F)...I will not give the "Elders/Society" any power over me or my life any more. JC meetings? Nope! Want to talk to me as a "friend and not an elder"? NOPE!...I will just fade and stay away until they read my name off. If the Mrs decided to leave due to "spiritual danger" or whatever they call it, she can move in with her mother...and I'd take things as they come. (hopefully one day she'll see the light...but I doubt it)

Once I am out...I WILL find other "apostates" and we'll hang out. Maybe one Saturday a month we'll ride around the suburbs with anti-JW flyers (with quotes from WTs and links to here and freeminds and silentlambs) and work streets that we find JWs on. Presentation? I guess "Do you know the truth about JWs? Here's a flyer! its really free! no donation needed, its a public service we're doing"

On Memorial Night...we'd wear our suits, go to some random KH, and partake of the emblems

If they looked at the WTBTS closely and weighed the pros and cons of their mere existance, I hope they would move to drain every dime until it is impossible for the company to continue. all of the land and buildings they own, the govt is missing out on major money. It can't go on for much longer. Most families struggling these days should be considered "non-profit", the WTBTS is all about a buck.

when i was growing up i was told that the "holy spirit" assisted in the selection of elders.

Side bar about their "processes"... makes me laugh. Kinda like the praying before the Judicial Committee hearing when a person's fate is already planned. Maybe the Holy Spirit told them what decision to make before you arrive.

I had a better shot of being an elder at 14yrs old than I do now. Now that I'm all grown up, I have no one to MAKE ME go to a meeting, or field service or be on time when I do go.

Before you can be Baptized, you must first....

at this week's bookstudy/school/service meeting, there is plenty of emphasis on "baptism"...and considering the book of acts, one must wonder about the eunuch and cornelius.. ethiopian eunuch - a minister of finance (political figure = treasurer)...didn't really understand what he was reading (not in the "accurate knowledge" way at least)...yet by phillip he was baptized soon after they met.

it was his faith in jesus that played the part.

cornelius - was in the roman army (military)...was a very giving man, kind, strong faith in jesus and believed in him...he and his family were baptized.

Facebook May Defeat Disfellowshipping

i noticed an ex-witness sister on facebook - smiling, looking happy, expressing nice thoughts for any to read -and she is disfellowshipped!.

in her extended family, more and more kids and grandkids are leaving the "truth" - and "friending" her!

it might even be that she now is part of the majority of the extended family.

Witnesses with BRAINS know that the GB is "getting out of hand" as time goes on. They're starting to look greedy, (power-hungry) controlling, and desperate. In the past, it was well hidden, but in this "Information Age"...their true colors shine thru. The false prophecies have given long-time witnesses a less-urgent attitude about the "END" actually coming.

And franckly, I think many of us are just dying to be kicked out for any reason possible, just so that we do not have to ever go back. LOL many of us have family (kids etc.) that keeps us linked to the "ORG" but...if not for that it would be super easy to just leave. I'm even seeing more brothers grow goatees and things too. Its funny, so many are just giving the Golden Calf the finger. LOL

Lack of true friends as a Witness

it was kind of a sad realization i had the other day that as a witness you are conditioned to not have friends.

i realize that most of this fact is related to my own stupidity and arrogance.

when i was in my teenage years i had a great group of friends that i ran around with.

Dude, I so feel what you're saying. Very Very true. The witnesses don't even have "gatherings" anymore unless its a congregation picnic or something. Everyone's so busy preparing for meetings or out in service...there's no TIME to have friends and hang out long and often enough to really ever get to know ANYONE

opened the door and said "hi" in a friendly manner.

I'd say; "Oh! the Bible?...I didn't think y'all followed GOD, I thought you followed the...uh...um..Governing Body! yeah?" that'll be their trick question of the day. After explaining to me that the GB is NOT who they follow (in so many words), I'll say "Oh, so you don't have to do everything the Governing Body tells you then, right? If your members don't agree with certain things that's their right. Right?"

If that's not enough to get their brains working...I don't know what would be.

pride and prejudice abound in the watchtower religion.. i go to the assemblies and it becomes very clear that the speakers are so proud of the fact that their religion is the one true religion and that they are so much better than the other churches out there.

the amount of pride i heard coming from the platform is astounding.

astounding still is the fact that they cannot see it themselves and at one point in time, i could not see it either.

I've been on these sites (here, Jwfacts, youtube, etc...) for about 1yr now...and I can seriously say that I'm almost at the point where I could care less about what my wife or family thinks if I were to up in quit ASAP! My wife is a R&F member and cannot, will not see the TRUTH for what it really is. I mean...yeah there's lots of "bitter" people out there, but really...EVERYONE can't be WRONG or CRAZY. We discussed the whole 1975 thing (my mom started studying in the mid 80's...so I was a kid and i had never even heard of the 1975 mess until later of course. So me and my wife discussed it, she said her mom said she remembers back then...but it was never TAUGHT that the end would come in 1975. I have the Fred Franz talk ready to go. I can't wait to see her mouth drop when she hears the "Fall of 1975" proclamation.

Mind control really works!...just look at a JW and you'll see it. Every meeting I attend...I laugh to myself at the comments given. Every WT I read, I disect and pick it apart.
